  • Pope Says It OK To Be Gay?

If this is true, I think he went too far...

Atheism is the cult of death, the death of hope. The universe is doomed, you are doomed, the only thing that remains is to await your execution...

The Pope, it appears, loves the praise of men more than the approval of God. (John 12:43)
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

Huge amount of articles to come and explain what he "really meant" in 3, 2, 1...

Doesn't he care enough for the souls of gays to call them to repent?

OK, do we know for a fact that the Pope actually said that? All I'm seeing so far is that the gay man, Juan Carlos, says he said it.

              Rome (CNN)
A victim of clerical sexual abuse has said that Pope Francis told him that God made him gay and that his sexuality "does not matter."
Juan Carlos Cruz, a survivor of sexual abuse, spent three days with Pope Francis at the Vatican in April, in which he discussed his sexuality and the abuse he suffered at the hands of a Chilean priest.
Describing his encounter with the Pope to CNN, Cruz said: "You know Juan Carlos, that does not matter. God made you like this. God loves you like this. The Pope loves you like this and you should love yourself and not worry about what people say.

Well the Vatican has not confirmed or denied at this point.

Here's an interesting article from the Human Rights Campaign showing the Pope's.. um.. incompatible statements on LBQTXIJVMCD....

                    Summarizing the statements....
                    • [07/2013] "If they accept the Lord and have goodwill, who am I to judge them?"
                    • [03/2015] "Sometimes it happens that you feel disappointed, discouraged, abandoned by all: but God does not forget his children, he never abandons them! He is always at our side, especially in trying times."
                    • [06/2015] "I ask you to pray fervently for this intention," the Pope continued, "so that Christ can take even what might seem to us impure, scandalous or threatening, and turn it ... into a miracle. Families today need miracles!"
                    • [12/2014] "We have to find a way to help that father or that mother to stand by their [LGBTQ] son or daughter."
                    • [02/2015] "Let's think of the nuclear arms, of the possibility to annihilate in a few instants a very high number of human beings. Let's think also of genetic manipulation, of the manipulation of life, or of the gender theory, that does not recognize the order of creation."
                    • [01/2015] "The family is threatened by growing efforts on the part of some to redefine the very institution of marriage, by relativism, by the culture of the ephemeral, by a lack of openness to life."
                    • [02/2015] "[...] I wish to express my appreciation to the entire Slovak church, encouraging everyone to continue their efforts in defense of the family, the vital cell of society."

I would think that if he says it to one, he would be extrapolating it out to all. Including those priests who engaged in abuse.

And he is dead wrong on every count.

I have no problem with the Pope being gracious, but if he did say that that was the way God created him that way and that his sexuality did not matter - that would seriously wrong.

Yeah, in a weird way, it's almost like he's minimalizing the abuse -- "it's ok, God made you that way", so maybe He made the priest that way, too.

I'm thinking this Pope was a really bad choice, or maybe he's simply losing it.

Yeah, absolutely wrong - see my response to moss.

Exactly, and one wonders if that guy (kid at the time) was not raped all those years if he would be gay today.
