David Hogg Makes A Fool Of Himself In Canada, Gets Mic Taken Away

Left-wing activist David Hogg made a fool out of himself in Canada late last week while joining leftist Michael Moore for the premiere of his anti-Trump propaganda film "Fahrenheit 11/9."

Appearing on stage with Moore at the Toronto International Film Festival, Hogg spoke to the Canadian crowd about saving America and turning their "shame" into "votes."

"I have a question for you guys: Who's ready to save America? Who's ready to make America the country we say it is on paper and make it the actual country that it wants to be?," Hogg asked the Canadian crowd. "I think the most important thing to realize, however, is the problems we face as a country, whether it be water in Flint, Michigan or the amount of mass incarceration of people of color that can't vote."

Hogg continued by suggesting that Canadians can donate money to political campaigns in the United States, which is a felony.

After making the embarrassing remarks, Moore took the microphone away from Hogg.
It made me laugh to watch the video in your link of Hogg actually speaking and to see how foolishly wrong the summary provided is. Maybe you should stop making a fool of yourself by posting this stuff CP?

Hogg spoke to the Canadian crowd about saving America and turning their "shame" into "votes."
Hogg literally said the words "vote, if you're not Canadian". You can go watch him say it. There were probably a fairly large number of Americans in the crowd who could vote, because quite a few Americans live in Canada and this was a popular event in a city right on the US-Canada border so many Americans may have crossed the border to attend, and this particular speech was by American celebrities talking about American issues so it's going to attract the Americans who are attending the event in general. Was his crowd majority-American or majority-Canadian? I dunno, I don't see any polling results in the article.

Hogg continued by suggesting that Canadians can donate money to political campaigns in the United States, which is a felony.
Hogg asked Moore if Canadians could donate, Moore said no, and that was the end of it. Try watching the video rather than posting fake news.

Moore took the microphone away from Hogg.
Because he'd finished speaking. So the mic was passed back to Moore who was moderating. Why do you post this junk, it's just embarrassing for you... You should yourself to be 10x the foolish little snit you imagine Hogg to be.

P.S. If you want embarrassing speeches you should look no further than your own senator Ted Cruz who mocked tofu when your state grows a lot of soybeans, and attacked tech-jobs and hair dying as being "Californian" in a state that does lots of both.

From his speech he seemed to think he was speaking to a mixed crowd of Canadians and Americans. At various times he mentions that the audience should do X if they are American and Y if they are Canadian in order to help. Do you have any reason to believe he was wrong and that the crowd was 100% Canadian and contained 0% Americans? He's speaking at a popular film festival in a Canadian city that's ~10 miles from the US border. Do you have any reason to think no Americans crossed the border to attend? Or are you just the idiot you'd like to accuse him of being?

I know you're well past self-examination... I guess that like Trump you're unwilling to do it because you know you wouldn't like what you find. But seriously, you should think about what is wrong with yourself that you have such a strong dislike for a mildly charismatic boy who's school got shot up and now goes around doing some run of the mill political activism against guns.

OK you were right, he did say "Vote. ...If you're not Canadian." And he did ask Moore if Canadians could donate and Moore shook his head "no"

But after that he loses momentum and starts to falter because his obvious appeal for donations and votes fell flat. He didn't seem to know what to say and starts stuttering and going "uh well, don't let it happen here. uh." until Moore takes the microphone away from him. He was obviously flustered. So no it didn't happen the way the article said, but it didn't happen the way you portrayed it either.

I watched the video, and, yeah, the article stretches it - but Hogg is obviously totally ignorant on election policies, and is, IMOHBAO, using this tragedy to advance his own agenda, and being a blithering idiot in the process. Even Moore realized the kid was way out of his element.

But even vaster than Moore's ego is his hypocrisy. For when he bemoans "people today working longer . . . for less . . . with no job security" and says "people are frightened," he could be describing what it's like to work for Michael Moore. This is hardly news to Mooreologists. Vicious take-outs featuring Moore's ex-employees have appeared in the New York Post, Salon, and New York magazine. War stories include everything from Moore's discouraging union membership to his not adequately paying or crediting his subordinates. To mine such material once more might seem a gratuitous rehash. Then again, so is most of Moore's work.

It is striking how many former associates--all predisposed to side with Moore--bitterly revile him. Randy Cohen, a former Letterman writer and co-executive producer of TV Nation who was fired by Moore (though he remained contractually obligated to fork over ideas), offers a typical compliment: "I despise Mike and regard him as a vile and dishonorable man, but I think Roger & Me was terrific!"

Conversations with some dozen former employees turn up such descriptions of Moore as "mercurial," "demanding," "paranoid," and a "fork-tongued manipulator" who is "totally disingenuous" and "feeds on people's insecurities." Former TV Nation staffers compare their working conditions to "a sweatshop," a "repressive police state," "indentured servitude," and a "concentration camp." One former staffer says, "Most people hated Michael, not because he was a perfectionist, but because he was an smiley bleep.gif." A former producer, casting about for a despot appropriately "large, with gluttonous appetites--not just ruthless, but sadistic," finally compares a stint with Moore to "working for Idi Amin--without the laughs." Another staffer simply states, "My parents want him dead."

Former employees tell tales of random firings, of no health benefits, of having to crank out daily story-idea quotas that often went unread. Like a surly bear, Moore required gentle care and regular feeding. He often ate in front of staffers held hostage well into the night, their stomachs rumbling as he gorged on chocolate confections and Chinese takeout. They tell stories of Moore's fighting "tooth and nail to try to avoid paying writers in the Writers Guild"; of his threatening to fire the assistant who sent a yellow cab instead of a limo to retrieve him from the airport; of his pouting in his office for hours in the middle of shoots and making assistants cover the windows with tape so he couldn't be seen.
