  • Hogg Wild Profanity Tour?

Marjory Stoneman Douglas students to embark on summer tour

    hhogg.jpg

(Does he know he's doing the "white power" salute? )

The students of March for Our Lives, including survivors of the Parkland high school shooting, today will announce a 60-day, 20-state, 75-stop summer bus tour to register young people to vote and to promote gun law reform.

A key quote: David Hogg, 18, who graduated yesterday with the other seniors of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, told me in an interview Saturday to promote the tour that his biggest surprise as he travels the country has been: "There’s a lot more love than hate out there."

Hogg, who plans to work on voter registration during his gap year ahead, said: "I’m glad I’m getting my diploma and not my death certificate."
The bus tour, "March for Our Lives: Road to Change," will include meetings with victims and survivors. It follows the 850 rallies and protests that drew hundreds of thousands of people around the globe on March 24.

I started to put some of his other speeches here, but the F bomb is too prevalent.
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

That's how "Camera" Hogg demonstrates that "There’s a lot more love than hate out there"

But were you on a publicity tour trying to win the hearts and minds of the populace?

No, but I was probably almost as egotistical as Hogg is

He's not targeting the old fogies like you who get triggered and run away whimpering if they hear a swear word.

The younger generation doesn't even notice if there is the occasional swearword and regards it as normal expressing of emotions. If I listened closely to a 5 minute speech and was able to answer any question you then asked me about the points that were made, the logic of the arguments etc, chances are if you asked me "did the speaker use a swearword?" I would have no idea because I wouldn't have noticed.

I see their tour has some international components and they are coming here. I guess I could go meet them in person...

Wow, you're getting really good at packing a lot of wrong into one sentence! I'm not only an oilfield chaplain, I'm also a police chaplain - I hear the vilest language and don't run from it.

                    You're quite the drama queen!

(Well, at least you got the old fogy part correct )

The question of who Hogg's intended audience is seems relevant. (I'm not sure. I don't follow him closely.) If it skews younger, Starlight is probably correct that it wouldn't hurt him - many younger people prefer getting their news from the Daily Show, for instance.

Oh mercy me! Really? How did you confuse us with snowflakes who need safe places?

Perhaps we happen to know how such language ruins good dialogue. We perhaps can't take people with potty mouths seriously.

Because if it quacks like a duck...

I've never come across a bigger bunch of snowflakes than the conservatives on this site.

Well I struggle to take you guys seriously when you get your knickers all in a twist because you heard a swear.

I do get that it detracts from your ability to hear the message because you are so busy clutching your pearls in offended-snowflake outrage at the 'bad language' that you stop paying any attention to what the person is saying.
