But in the song Turn the Page, Bob Seger said that people could not tell the difference.

Well you walk into a restaurant strung out from the road
And you feel the eyes upon you as you're shakin' off the cold
You pretend it doesn't bother you but you just want to explode
Most times you can't hear 'em talk, other times you can

              Remember the Kinks song "Lola"?

I met her in a club down in North Soho
Where you drink champagne and it tastes just like cherry cola
              C-O-L-A cola

She walked up to me and she asked me to dance
I asked her name and in a dark brown voice she said, "Lola"
L-O-L-A Lola, lo lo lo lo Lola

Well, I'm not the world's most physical guy
But when she squeezed me tight she nearly broke my spine
Oh my Lola, lo lo lo lo Lola

Well, I'm not dumb but I can't understand
Why she walk like a woman and talk like a man
Oh my Lola, lo lo lo lo Lola, lo lo lo lo Lola

Well, we drank champagne and danced all night
              Under electric candlelight
She picked me up and sat me on her knee
And said, "Little boy won't you come home with me?"

Well, I'm not the world's most passionate guy
But when I looked in her eyes
Well, I almost fell for my Lola
Lo lo lo lo Lola, lo lo lo lo Lola

Lola lo lo lo lo Lola lo lo lo lo Lola

I pushed her away, I walked to the door
I fell to the floor, I got down on my knees
I looked at her, and she at me

Well that's the way that I want it to stay
And I always want it to be that way for my Lola
              Lo lo lo lo Lola

Girls will be boys, and boys will be girls
              It's a mixed-up, muddled-up, shook-up world
Except for Lola, lo lo lo lo Lola

I'm always still in trouble again

I thought it was fairly clear that I was agreeing that NFL/Colleges have those requirements.

My point, all along, was that Pix was making absolute claims for which she had only partial data. We know there is a biological difference. We suspect there is also a cultural/social one. We do not know to what degree each contributes to the current gap between men and women. If women were not repeatedly told they couldn't compete against men, would their performance against men increase 1%? 5%? 10%? No data exists to determine this. So a claim that cultural/social influence has "zero impact" is simply not defensible.
The point is you have no evidence to support your claim, just idle speculation. The reality is despite social hurdles coming down, the gap between male and female athletes remains consistent.

So in the claim biology (X) > cultural/social influence (Y) we now have more detail on X. I'm still looking for data/information on Y. Without it, the hard claim X > Y simply cannot be substantiated.

Do I think it's possible X > Y? Absolutely. Do I think it's likely? I suspect there is not a single answer for every sport. Given the gap in strength sports, my gut says "likely." Given the narrower gap in endurance sports, my gut says "could go either way." Given the gap in skill sports, my gut says, "culture dominates." But I cannot substantiate any of those "gut feels" without the missing piece of the puzzle.

I have to admit that I am amazed to be pointing that out. It seems rather obvious to me.
It’s amusing that you make this claim, but keep failing to show social factors are at work. Social factors likely have an effect on the number of women athletes, but I doubt it had much on performance.

Not really because it depends on how important strength is to the competition.

A man going through estrogen therapy is still a man. It might reduce but will not eliminate the inherent physical advantages in strength and speed that he has over women. Seriously, aren't you guys always crying about "male privilege"?

Why is this OK in your world? I have yet to hear a coherent defense of this from any of the liberals posting here.
I really couldn't care less about transgenders in sport. But let's not fool ourselves this is not about sport, it's about the anti LGBT agenda of you angry Evangelicals.

My claim is that you are making positive statements you cannot affirm (e.g. social/cultural issues have zero impact). My evidence is the lack of any evidence about the degree of impact of cultural/social issues. You have a simple path to proving me wrong: show some evidence that social/cultural impacts have "zero impact." Otherwise, I stand behind my position that you are making a positive claim without evidence.

I didn't claim "social factors are at work" (except for the one post where I was sloppy with my writing and already acknowledged I misspoke). See my previous post for my actual claim and your dilemma.
