The point is pretty clear. Is MM crossing into a foreign country without any sort of way to prove the kids he is with are his? The point is that it needs to be established these kids are not being taken to be sold in America as slaves. You are thinking emotionally and not rationally, there’s good reasons to separate adults and children. Figuring out relationships so you are not condemning a child to be a human trafficking victim seems like a pretty good reason.

Figuring out relationships so you don't facilitate human trafficking is an excellent idea. But it's not a good reason to separate all children from their parents.

There is also a legitimate reason to keep children and adults separated: Liberals may not want to admit it, but child molesters and pedophiles are a thing. Keeping the children housed in a clean, comfortable, and secure facility away from the adults protects them from these potential predators.
