Trump ending up in jail for it would not at all surprise me as an outcome, although I am cynical in the sense that I think the US has gotten so corrupt over the decades that people in power almost never go to jail for their crimes so I suspect Pence pardoning Trump after he's removed from office is probably the most likely outcome.

Imagine you were a politician and there was speculation and rumor and investigation into impropriety with goats in your past, would you:
A) Laugh it off in public, and make sure you never ever meet with or bring up any goats or goat-farmers in your time in office?
B) Constantly praise goats, meet privately with goats, say how great goats are, refuse to implement congressional sanctions on goats, and act in every way like a person who loves goats?

And Trump's encouragement of Germany to stop being dependent on Russia for natural gas (although typically he exaggerated how much they're reliant on them) cannot make Putin happy. If Germany and other European countries bought more from us it would, while not wreck, certainly severely damage the Russian economy.

Likewise pushing Europe to start picking up the slack and start defending themselves is probably going over like a lead balloon in Moscow.

But Trump is Putin's tool.

Jim, you're usually far more accurate than this. Here's what Trump actually said. “I will tell you this, Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 e-mails that are missing. I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press,”

You'll note there's no question mark there, so it's not an ask. It's more of a taunt of the press....

Or a signal. The Russians first attempt at hacking the DNC came the very night of Trumps request to them.

Nope, the meeting in Trump tower was clear collusion. When your son gets an email that literally says "this is part of the Russian government's efforts to help your father" and your son says "love it" and then he and your team meet with the Russian representative to talk about how the Russians have info on your opponent, that's collusion. It's cut and dried and proven.
