Having a job is a God given blessing. Job, friends, health and something in your life you find meaningful to do (which can be related to your job). If you have that then its pretty hard to slide into depression. It can still happen, but its harder. I've seen some of my jobless friends slide into depression one and off, just too much free time on their hands. I was the same after my education when the economy had tanked and no one needed a physicist. I retooled, and began my current career and now I have a full time job that I love.

But man in between those times it was rough going. I definitely had a major depressive episode, though the circumstances about is not something I'm willing to talk about. However just not having a job was ... I had nothing to get up for. To struggle with. To better myself through. I'm not good at setting my own goals. I like getting something to work with and tinker with.

And I have that now. Its a world of difference.

My family has a pretty strong work ethics. I don't go to work if I have a fever, since I don't wanna infect others, but I have to be pretty sick to call in sick. As far as I'm concerned the ideal number of sick days in a year is zero.

no, if they're Muslim and/or asylum seekers coming in legally, I have no objection.
Trump called for a total ban on Muslims entering the US, during his campaign and his supporters cheered. Isn’t that one of the reasons why you voted for him?

And asylum seekers from Central America were stopped from entering legally, so drop the sanctimonious cant.

Furthermore, the Trump administration's “zero tolerance” immigration policy, which led to the separation of children from adults, has still not been effected despite court orders.

You have the attention span of a gnat. I have, on multiple occasions, made it very clear why I voted for him...

        A) Hillary won't be POTUS
        2 SCOTUS won't be Hillary's

        Success on both counts

If we viewed tolerance like Tassy and most liberals do, Tassy and his crew would have been banned long ago from tweb.

Exactly. Which is why we tolerate different view points. What a boring place the world would be if everyone thought the same. Maybe you liberals should take a lesson from that instead of trying to ban every viewpoint you don't like while pretending to be tolerant.

The majority of liberals, even university students support freedom of speech. I know this is a very right-wing forum, but you guys seriously need to get out of your echo chamber.

Alt-Righters have very successfully removed several left leaning videos from youtube by exploiting the flagging.

I've said on this forum that the idea that there's a specific and ongoing attack on free speech by leftists in the US is largely a media based spiel. There's nothing substantive backing it up. For every story I've heard of leftists doing something anti free-speech, I've seen the Alt-Right have another succesful campaign of threats shutting down leftists. FoxNews and Breitbart are silent about that, as they are silent about the Trump Administrations directions about what words to use etc... Because Fox News and Breitbart don't care any one bit about Free Speech.

They care about "Free Speech" if "Free Speech" is something they agree with, or they can use the cause to attack liberals.

When the conservatives were against the NFL players taking a knee, did they ever claim that they were against free speech? Did they ever, even once, riot and take over a football stadium? No.

But we have incident after incident of college students shutting down free speech over here. Rioting when a conservative speaker is invited to speak at a college. Burning things. destroying things. Demanding safe spaces so they don't have to hear speech that they disagree with. Or demanding that such speech be outlawed.

                                There is no comparison Leonhard.
