It turns out that on Jan. 6th 2017, a week before his inauguration, Trump was personally briefed and shown proof that Russia was guilty of a Putin directed influence and hacking campaign of the 2016 election in order to help him win. Trump was shown both text messages and e-mails from top Russian military officers to V. Putin showing that Putin himself ordered the hacking. Trump has known all along and has been lying to the American people the whole time pretending that he didn't know if it was Russia. That's called "accomplice after the fact" and is obstruction of justice, an impeachable offence. With any other Congress, that would be the last nail in the coffin, although I wouldn't count on this particular cowardly group of republicans to go down that road. Personally, I have a feeling Trump will be requesting asylum in Russia before to long. For the sake of the country and the rest of the free world, I certainly hope so.

This is for all you leftists, though it will fall on deaf ears. The reason why Trump has been all over the map on this Russian thing it that he sees that the left is trying to use that to undermine his win. He said it in Helsinki - he worked harder than Hillary and smarter. There is no evidence that what the Russians did changed one vote or that Trump colluded on any level. But the left will keep using this to delegitimize his presidency. No wonder he doesn't want to give credence to it.
As Byron York wrote...
The president clearly believes if he gives an inch on the what-Russia-did part -- if he concedes that Russia made an effort to disrupt the election -- his adversaries, who want to discredit his election, undermine him and force him from office, will take a mile on the get-Trump part. That's consistent with how Trump approaches other problems; he doesn't admit anything because he knows that his adversaries will never be satisfied and just demand more.Last edited by seer; 07-19-2018, 07:19 AM.Atheism is the cult of death, the death of hope. Glad to see you pulling Jimmy’s water for him, but not everyone agrees with your take on his statement.

Here's the key line from the original New York Times story:
"Mr. Trump sounded grudgingly convinced, according to several people who attended the intelligence briefing."
"...according to several people..." What people? Who? The article doesn't say. So another anonymous source telling the mainstream media exactly what they want to hear. Come on, you guys should know better than this by now, especially coming from such a dubious publication.
But even assuming all of this is true, do you know who else did nothing about Russian "meddling"? Obama. According to an on-the-record source, Obama was made aware of Russian attempts to "influence" the election and yet gave his cyber security expert a "stand down" order.
So if Trump is guilty of treason then Obama is doubly so.
Of course we wouldn't be hearing a word about any of this if Hillary had won, so I take the righteous indignation of liberals with a grain of salt. Some may call me foolish, and some may call me odd
But I'd rather be a fool in the eyes of man
Than a fool in the eyes of God

Oh, I guess Jim is the same as SL. Post something without a source, and when asked for one, tell you to do it yourself.
