And so it continues.... she's actually FUN to have at family gatherings and meals and stuff, and she OFTEN just "pops in" to say hello. Still rebuilding financially, so she often comes to our house to do laundry (where she lives, she has access to 'common' laundry facilities, but they tend to be not so clean)

USED to be, we would kinda dread Thanksgiving or holiday meals, because she would show up late (making us all wait) but be in a bad attitude, constantly griping at her kids (who weren't living with her at the time, and were pretty well behaved all around) and eventually get offended or insulted or have some other drama queen blow-up. We have pictures of family meals with everybody smiling and/or being goofy, with her scowling or looking mean.

Not seeing ANY of that now! She's pleasant, witty, fun... I'm praising God.

EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE, Mrs CP or I will start to comment on "she's here ALL THE TIME.....", but quickly add, "and praise the Lord!"

(and she and her husband actually look like they LIKE each other!!!!)

      • OK, so she just stopped by to ask if she and her husband could join our Church. They have been visiting faithfully for the past month or so, and I baptized her recently.

I'm not so sure about her husband's salvation, but we'll get to that -- he has, however, a much better grasp of the Bible than I had ever imagined.

As I was discussing with them the spiritual warfare that she is in, he had frequent inputs that showed a fairly decent understanding of spiritual principles.

And I notice he's always paying attention when I preach, so...

She said, "maybe, when we get our act together, we could even help with a Sunday School class for young adults".

          • Amazing new development....

George has been terribly embarrassed about her teeth... she was missing several in the front left, which made her extremely self-conscious. She already had weak enamel, and didn't take care of her teeth very well, then the drugs.... then an attempt at a cheap fix by a dentist who made things worse by grinding her teeth down and putting bad caps on them...

Long story short, her mouth was so bad that the only "real" fix was dentures or dental implants.

A friend of mine had talked to George after her Baptism that Sunday morning, and was so impressed with her transformation that he stopped by to see me later in the week. He asked if he could offer to pay for her to get her teeth fixed. I told him we had been checking into that, and he told me let him know what it would cost. He recommended we go to Clear Choice, and get an estimate.

We visited a number of dentists and denture places and implant places, and CLEARLY, none of them came close to what Clear Choice would do - with EVERYTHING under one roof - oral surgeons, extractions, building the teeth, installing the implants.... I was very impressed with the doctor who visited with us, showed us the x-rays and pictures, and explained the difficulty of doing implants in her jaws - due to bone loss - but assured us that this was her specialty. She stressed that George had a very small (almost child-sized) mouth, and it would be a challenge, but - again - this doctor claimed this was her specialty and she promised she could make George a very happy customer.

Then the kicker. For everything George needed done, it was going to cost (cough, sputter, choke) $47,500.

OK, next option? We have had a number of people we know take their dental problems across the Southern Border, and had great results at less than half the price.

When my friend urged me to tell him what we found, I told him we're still looking, because so far the only viable option was $47,500. He suggested another clinic, and we tried that, too --- but they only did the implants, and would farm out everything else to various specialists, and their advertised price was only ONE set - upper OR lower.

Two Sundays ago, my friend came up to me before Church and said, "let's not do the Mexico thing - let's do the $47,500 thing, and I'll have a check for you in the morning". I was stunned. Speechless. So much so, that I didn't even tell George, because I was still processing it.

AFTER Church, as people were leaving, I asked him -- "are you SURE?" He grabbed my lapels, and pulled me close like nose to nose, and "mock angrily" asked, "Have I EVER backed away from anything I told you?"

So, I brought George and her husband into my office, and told her we were going with the Clear Choice thing. She cried. And cried. And asked, "who would DO that?" Her husband cried. Unbelievable!!!

This past Monday, George went in for impressions, pictures, x-rays, all the pre-op stuff.

This past Thursday, she had her oral surgery, dental implants, temporary teeth manufactured --- from 6 AM to 8 PM she was there, and by 8 PM she had a full set of teeth. She will wear those for 4 months, then they'll do the final set, but already, her smile is amazingly natural and fresh - with no dentures.

Her countenance was already incredibly improved immediately after her Baptism - but now she can speak and smile with confidence and.... it's like she's a WHOLE NEW person, not just spiritually, but physically as well.

Praise God from whom all blessings flow!!!

              Need some more cards?

There's an idea!!! She could write "him" (whoever "he" is) an anonymous card! And I'd LOVE to pay for them -- they are worth something special!!!

Do I need to do a special thank you specific card, or would any do?

I am not charging my friends for the cards I send them. If you wanted six or seven dozen, that's a different story, but for a few, it isn't necessary.

You are the best - whatever you want to send would be greatly appreciated.

I'll try to get that done this week.

                      • So, my daughter continues to do FANTASTIC - she has a joy in the Lord I had never imagined I'd see.

TEMPORARILY, her sister exhibited symptoms of "the other child" in the story, appearing to be a bit resentful that suddenly "George" has come home and we are celebrating her return.

Both daughters appear to have worked through it, and seem to be best friends now.

MEANWHILE, George (yesterday morning?) texted me the MUG SHOTS of two of the doctors who had been treating her in "that other county" where she resided. Four physicians were arrested in a "pill mill" scheme, and two of these doctors had prescribed meds to her, which probably increased her bi-polar and/or psychotic challenges.

In addition, another young female naked body has shown up in a local park - related to the culture of death in which George had been a participant, and for which she praises God she is no longer a part.

George is on ZERO medication for the past 3 months or so, and I have never see her so happy.
