And it's actually bulkier than an actual handgun that would do a better job. It's more of a goofy "spy novel" notion that somebody would get a plastic gun through security so they could get right up close and personal to somebody they wanted to kill. You can't really use it as a threat weapon, because people would probably laugh at it. It doesn't look like a real gun by any stretch. Those who knew what it was would also know that it's only 'one shot', and if you shoot at the king, you better be sure you can kill him.

Well I was shooting a real handgun just the other day after about 3 years of not shooting a gun. Taking my time and aiming carefully and still missing what I was aiming at by a pretty good margin. From only about 25 feet away. And I am usually a pretty good shot. I was aiming at the center of the chest on the target and kept hitting the shoulder, the kidney, the arm, missing. After about 3 clips (about 36 shots) I started pulling it together and hitting in what would be a fatal area. Good luck with a plastic gun without rifling and only one shot while not having time to aim.

Oh but it will be if even one person gets killed by one. Even by accident. You can bet on that. Liberals will pontificate on how we have to ban these guns to protect our children and how dangerous they are and so on.

Sort of like how everybody freaked out after one person died from a self driving car, even though millions have died from human operated cars.

yeah. The news organizations will assure that anything like that will get as much press as possible and sensationalize it to the point of absurdity.

To some extent, the very purpose of having self driving cars is to eliminate the human failure factor - humans not paying attention, driving drunk, sleep driving, etc.... so a self driving car getting into a wreck would naturally raise an eyebrow.

But, yeah, I get your point.
