I was amazed to see this cross my news feed. It was apparently written by a senior White House staffer, clearly a Republican (I'm pretty sure Trump completely abandoned the practice of having opposition members in his staff and on his cabinet - loyalty and all that), and one who makes a clear distinction between policies and behavior. I wish it were possible for them to identify themselves, because I'm reasonably sure this will simply be dismissed as "fake news" by Trump supporters and defenders. Clearly, however, it's not possible to continue to guide/resist if you are not in the position any longer.
Though I disagree with some of the policies described as "good for America," that is how America works - sometimes the opposing party is in power and policies you disagree with are enacted. What I have long been more concerned about is the erosion and damage Trump does by his force of personality and lack of management ability ("Apprentice" not withstanding). Time after time we hear reports of a highly unstable White House environment, most recently from Woodward's book. We have seen his admiration for dictators and strongmen, and his horrendous treatment of long-term allies and friends. It is good to know there is a force in place that is containing him to some degree.
