I've been waiting for 2 days for somebody to blame Trump for Florence.

Must be his fault that it's snowing here today, too.

OK so they can't say that Climate change has anything to do with Florence, but Trump is somehow complicit because he has not jumped on the AGW bandwagon? How does that work?

You all are completely missing the point. The article is not blaming Trump FOR Florence, it is blaming Trump for actively working to dismantle efforts to combat human induced climate change, which is believed will produce a statistically larger number of more powerful storms. So Trump is complicit in that his actions are making it more likely climate change will continue unabated, producing more storms like Florence.

Kind of a stupid way to make the point if you ask me, it fans the flame of anti-media hysteria which defines the typical Trump supporter. But the article's main thrust, that Trump is setting us back decades in terms of dealing with AGW is valid. In fact, Trump is setting us back decades on environmental policy in general, not just AGW.

My brethren, do not hold your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ with an attitude of personal favoritism. James 2:1

If anyone thinks himself to be religious, and yet does not  bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this man’s religion is worthless James 1:26

This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; James 1:19

Is that really going to happen though...

We know that hurricanes are powered by warm seas and over the past 100 years global average sea temperatures have risen by about 1C.

But when you look at the total strength of storms in each year since records began, some years are more fearsome than others.

Meteorologists use something called accumulated cyclone energy (ACE) to calculate the total wind power of all the storms in any given year.

As you can see from the following chart, there's no clear upward trend.

(emphasis added) Thank you for at least admitting that. When a policy results in unintended consequences which will actually make things worse, it absolutely should be dismantled. "Let's make it impossible to burn coal here, so the coal gets shipped to China instead, where they essentially don't even have environmental regulations!"

"Trump is complicit" In what? "another hurricane"

They blame Trump, then back off and say "his AGW denial"

Even with complete denial, there is no way his policy has had any change on the climate in 1-1/2 years.

If Obama [the ONE] had simply fulfilled his own prophecy....

This "was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal."

Then we wouldn't be in this mess in the first place.
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

I seriously wonder if there are any folks along the Carolina coast who are utterly refusing to move inland before the hurricane strikes solely because Trump told them to.

I'm always still in trouble again

For those lost deep in the throes of TDS that doesn't matter. It's still Trump's fault.
