Biblical Languages 301 Guidelines

This is where we come to delve into the biblical text. Theology is not our foremost thought, but we realize it is something that will be dealt with in nearly every conversation. Feel free to use the original languages to make your point (meaning Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic). This is an exegetical discussion area, so please limit topics to purely biblical ones.

This is not the section for debates between theists and atheists. While a theistic viewpoint is not required for discussion in this area, discussion does presuppose a respect for the integrity of the Biblical text (or the willingness to accept such a presupposition for discussion purposes) and a respect for the integrity of the faith of others and a lack of an agenda to undermine the faith of others.

Wait.. can we get back to the idea that Muslims think Allah can only answer prayers in Arabic? Isn't God omniscient? That's a rather finite view of the ultimate Being! Mere mortals can learn more than one language!
If it weren't for the Resurrection of Jesus, we'd all be in DEEP TROUBLE!

Christianity is about what Christ did for us. Islam is about what Muslims can do for Allah.

Christ died for His followers - Allah wants his followers to die for him.

God can hear us in any language - Allah wants us to learn Arabic for him.

I also heard that Allah can't see muslims when they are not in the middle east so they can do whatever they want like whore and drink and sin.

Not sure if that is true or just a rumor someone told me.

I can find pretty good substantiation for Arabic to be necessary for prayers to Allah, but I don't find anything about him not seeing Muslims outside the Middle East. In fact, it appears that Allah is claimed to be both omnipotent and omniscient.

The explanation for why it's necessary to pray in Arabic reminds me a lot of the 'explanations' on FairMormon.org.

Close. If whoring and drinking and sinning somehow advances the cause of Islam, then it's all good. If the Muslim dies for the advance of Islam, that's a one-way, fully-paid ticket to your 70 houris, so one can sin to one's heart's content, consequence-free.
Enter the Church and wash away your sins. For here there is a hospital and not a court of law. Do not be ashamed to enter the Church; be ashamed when you sin, but not when you repent. – St. John Chrysostom

Ah. That explains why the 911 terrorists were seen to be out gambling and drinking. They figured their sacrifice absolved them of their sins.

Not only that, but they revel in the sales of alcohol and cigarettes and pornography to us infidels. My sister almost married a Muslim about 40 years ago, and I was able to talk her out of it, but it was a tough sell. She really Achmed.

What about Bahrain? Pretty much the Las Vegas of the middle east. Maybe Allah can't see them there either.

Bahrain has been identified as the Sumerian Dilmun, which was the abode of the blessed - a sort of Sumerian Elysium. https://www.ancient-origins.net/myth...nd-dead-006801
