It's like DiFi thought the initial allegation would be a show-stopper, and it wasn't, so it kept growing and growing, but apparently is - thus far - still a nothingburger. Teenagers with raging hormones in high school --- absolutely UNHEARD of!

(If it turns out to be an actual charge of sexual assault, I'm certainly not condoning that -- but so far, it's .. it's .... what TerryCloth just said! )

Republican Senator Chuck Grassley apparently knew sexual misconduct allegations against Kavanaugh might come up in these hearings, so had sent his aides out to find 60 women who knew Kavanaugh from his high-school days so they could write nice things about them. He's now produced their pre-written letter.

Remember also, in the hearings the Republicans had the girls basketball team that Kavanaugh coached sit behind him.

It seems Republicans were far more aware of these sexual assault allegations against Kavanaugh than democrats were. Most of the Democrats seem to be really angry at Feinstein that she hid this from her fellow senators and did nothing with it.

The woman who made the allegations, who has yet to be identified, reportedly shared her experience with Rep. Anna Eshoo (D-CA) in July, after Trump nominated Kavanaugh for the Supreme Court. That information was passed on to California senator and top-ranking Senate Judiciary Democrat Dianne Feinstein, who then referred the allegations to federal investigators. The letter containing the allegations has not yet been made public and was first reported in the Intercept and a subsequent report from BuzzFeed.

Feinstein, who had heard about the allegations in July, did not involve Senate Democratic colleagues in the matter, reportedly finding the allegations to be too far in the past to warrant national conversation, according to the New Yorker.

So, DiFi had this information, but thought it was "too far in the past to warrant national conversation", until, of course, it looked like K might actually pass muster.

So, let's recap --- Starlight claims (without providing a source) that Grassley "had sent his aides out to find 60 women who knew Kavanaugh from his high-school days", but it was actually 65 women who actually knew K in high school and attested to his good character vs 1 anonymous woman who makes an unsubstantiated claim WAY after the fact....

Sixty-five women who knew Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh in high school have testified to his good character in a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee, in light of recently surfaced allegations that he tried to force himself on a girl during his time at Georgetown Preparatory School, an all-boys school in Bethesda, Maryland.

And you say this based on... uh, what, exactly? While I've seen others, like you, make the claim that the woman were found ahead of time and the letter pre-written, as far as I can tell this is entirely speculative. The only rationale is apparently the presumption that it's somehow implausible they could have seen and responded to the news this quickly, which has two problems with it. First, in our day of instant communication, it's silly to believe that people couldn't get put this together in short order. Second, some of these women have stated that they put the letter together by themselves after hearing the accusations and then forwarded it, which goes completely against the hypothesis that they were found by Chuck Grassley beforehand.

Going out and doing this preemptively would be an amazingly stupid thing to do since it would alert folks that there might be a potential problem there. I mean some of his former classmates are going to be opposed to him for political reasons and some might simply not have liked him when they went to school together and word would almost certainly get out that someone is trying to get positive testimonials from them which would certainly be a red flag.

The fact that they said they have also "have remained close to him and his family" and talk about his demeanor back then and "to this day" strongly indicates that they stepped forward in reaction to the anonymous allegation in spite of starlight's unfounded speculation.

If this is true then it was a smart strategy on Grassley's part.

Democrats have been pulling the "false accusations of sexual misconduct" trick so frequently these past few years that it has become entirely predictable.

The name of the accuser has been revealed, and in the most predictable plot-twist ever, it turns out that she's a well-known far-left activist who apparently spent the weekend scrubbing her social media accounts of all political content.

Also, just like with the Trump and Roy Moore accusers, there are a number of discrepancies in her story:

Source: Christine Blasey Ford Breaks Silence About Brett Kavanaugh Rape Attempt

Kavanaugh's friend, Mark Judge, also emphatically denies the incident saying that "I never saw Brett act that way".

A few days late, but I figured I might as post Kavanaugh's responses to a lot of post-hearing questions:
                              https://www.scribd.com/document/3884...for-the-Record

Note this may require a scribd subscription to read--I say may because I could read it and didn't have one, but another site said you did need one, so maybe it varies? Or they were incorrect...

The whole thing's over 200 pages, though, so if you want the quick highlights, you can go here:
