Also, Kavanaugh is a judge. Wouldn't you think she would have brought this up when he became a judge or started practicing law?

And what about the other guy who was involved? Did she or is she planning to go after him too?

I think she should be ashamed of herself.
There are often compelling reasons why women/girls don't go right to law enforcement/authorities when it comes to rape/assault. However, this smells of a smear campaign. It's pretty irrelevant to me if an accuser waits until a person gains prominence, so long as they can prove the case. This sounds like she's making stuff up.

And the more we learn of her, the more we learn that she's an extreme leftists with an axe to grind - that doesn't help her case. Usually, if what she were saying about K were true, there would be a pattern - at least a couple more women stepping forward and saying (I hate to say it) "ME TOO!"

Well, apparently, her "repressed memory" only got "unrepressed" fairly recently. (six hears ago, and didn't name K)

That fact that she has told several versions of the incident, and the fact that she can't recall key details like where the party was or how she got there certainly makes this suspicious.

Repressed memory syndrome has pretty much been debunked.

              • And the Dems (socialists, but I repeat myself) waste no time trying to make money off this latest scam.

Elizabeth Warren fundraises off sexual assault allegation against Kavanaugh

Sen. Elizabeth Warren is running a fundraising campaign off decades-old allegations of an attempted sexual assault by President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee.

Ms. Warren’s Senate campaign issued a plea to supporters Monday praising Christine Blasey Ford, the woman who has come forward and detail what she said was Judge Kavanaugh’s attempt to force himself on her while they were both in high school in the 1980s.

“Christine Blasey Ford has done a brave thing in coming forward. She deserves to be heard and treated with respect. Now it’s the Senate’s job to make sure that happens,” the fundraising email says.

In fairness, there are any number of reasons why someone would not report the situation. Heck, #MeToo is filled with accusations of things that happened years if not decades ago.

However, when you look at the situations where someone didn't speak out until much later, they almost all are situations where the perpetrator had some kind of authority over the victim. For example, commonly the victim was either not yet an adult and the perpetrator was, or the perpetrator was the supervisor or boss of the victim. Such situations make it more difficult to report problematic actions and much more likely to result in them being reported much later. Additionally, while there were many inappropriate actions in #MeToo, they generally were minor (well, relative to the accusation made here) and thus more likely to be considered not worth reporting; an inappropriate touch or two can be much more easily disregarded than someone actually physically holding you down, trying to remove your clothing, and covering up your mouth. Given the circumstances--the severity of the alleged crime, and the lack of any "authority" the alleged perpetrator had over the alleged victim--the question of why this wasn't reported is a very valid one. Still, she'll apparently be testifying on the subject next week, so additional information can be offered then.

As to the situation in general, I think this article matches up fairly well with my current thoughts on the subject.

                  • The Intercept is reporting that there are other allegations relevant to Kavanaugh from his workplace. Kavanaugh's mentor, Judge Alex Kozinski, retired/resigned after numerous allegations of sexual misconduct toward law clerks.

[Feinstein and Grassley were approached] in July by an attorney claiming to have information relevant to the confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. The attorney claimed in his letter that multiple employees of the federal judiciary would be willing to speak to investigators...

“there are persons who work for, or who have worked for, the federal judiciary who have important stories to tell about disgraced former Chief Judge Alex Kozinski, and his mentee, current United States Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. I know that there are people who wish to speak out but fear retaliation because I have been contacted by more than a half-dozen such persons since Judge Kozinski resigned in disgrace.”

[This] is the California attorney who blew the whistle on Kozinski years before a series of articles in the Washington Post in December finally brought about the resignation of the former chief judge of the 9th Circuit Court over sexual harassment revelations.

Since Kozinski’s resignation, questions have been raised about what Kavanaugh knew or did about such behavior, given the close relationship between the two. Kavanaugh clerked for Kozinski in the 1990s... During his confirmation hearings, Kavanaugh told the Judiciary Committee that he had no knowledge whatsoever of Kozinski’s behavior and was stunned to learn of the misconduct allegations. “When they became public, the first thought I had: No one should be subjected to sexual harassment in the workplace ever, including in the judiciary, especially in the judiciary,” Kavanaugh said under oath during his confirmation hearing

It seems Feinstein hid this evidence as well. She's clearly incompetent and it's long past time for her to be gone. Hopefully she loses in November.

I think she realized that there was, as the saying goes, no there there and intended to release it at the last minute as tactic to delay the vote until after the mid-terms -- which is exactly what the Democrats have been pushing for and it looks highly probable that the gambit will work.

AFAICT it seems that Feinstein intended to hide all the evidence and take a "boys will be boys" approach of ignoring it and simply approving Kavanaugh's nomination. The accusation from Professor Ford against Kavanaugh only came out because other democrats blew their tops at Feinstein when they found she was covering up for Kavanaugh, and they got a hold of the letter and leaked it to the press.

Now that they have, other stuff is beginning to come out too... which it now turns out Feinstein and Grassley both knew about and ignored. It also explains why Grassley was so quick off the mark with his "letter from 65 women who knew Kavanaugh"... because several months ago he'd received the letter from an attorney saying half a dozen women who'd worked in the federal judiciary with Kavanaugh had stories to tell about him and his mentor who resigned for sexual harrassment.

If it's indeed true that Feinstein knew about all this and decided to ignore it / cover it up, she really needs to be removed.

You voted for a President who ran a scam university and a fraudulent charity. Your Senator is currently in the news for sending out fraudulent fundraiser mailers disguised as court summons.

Yet despite this... you whinge that Elizabeth Warren is sending out a totally normal, run of the mill, fundraising email, which happens to mention what the political issues of the current week are? Do you have no decency whatsoever?

Oh really. You mean like delaying the appointment of Obama's nomination of Merrick Garland as Supreme Justice when Scalia died. That worked. The precedent for such "gambits" was set by you lot.
