EGGzackly - the Senate USED to be known as the more reserved and respectful organ of the federal government, but... sheeeesh.... civility is out the window.

Serious answer, they would investigate the veracity of the allegation. Witnesses, like Kavanaugh's high school buddy, M. Judge tend to be more honest when talking to the FBI under oath than they do when speaking off the cuff. And too, we have no idea how many corraborative witnesses there are out there to Kavanaughs behavior during high school, or in regard to this particular alleged incident, and won't know until and unless the allegation is investigated. Investigations take place because the answers aren't known, and as much as MM thinks he knows, thats just a result of his personal inability to be objective.

Jim, have you read the letter from the 65 women who attest to Kavanaugh's character?

Sixty-five women who knew Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh in high school signed a letter to Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA), praising the judge in an apparent attempt to discredit an unnamed woman’s allegation that he attempted to sexually assault her in high school.

Just finished watching the interview - he leaves ZERO wiggle room for anything to have happened. It was not "lawyer answers*" - he pretty well laid it all out there with clear denials. His wife's testimony was interesting, as well - you can tell she fully believes him.

They did this willingly and put their names out for all to see before Dr. Ford tried to remain anonymous as long as she could.

That's not an investigation CP, that's a biased cherry picked bunch of people, known to no one, who signed a conservative petition praising Kavanaugh. Who are these 65 women who knew Kavanaugh so well even though he attended an all boys school? Color me skeptical. Have the FBI, or Congess question them all, then we will know better.

Those are people who came forward voluntarily to vouch for his character, Jim.

who signed a conservative petition praising Kavanaugh.
Actually, no, Jim -- you appear not to have read the letter. It wasn't a "petition" - it was a letter that they signed - 65 women - from various backgrounds and political persuasions.

Who are these 65 women who knew Kavanaugh so wel
They signed their names, Jim - they're not mystery women. And they would have to know that they have opened themselves up to scrutiny.

They actually answer that in the letter they wrote:

We are women who have known Brett Kavanaugh for more than 35 years and knew him
while he attended high school between 1979 and 1983. For the entire time we have known Brett
Kavanaugh, he has behaved honorably and treated women with respect. We strongly believe it is
important to convey this information to the Committee at this time.
Brett attended Georgetown Prep, an all-boys high school in Rockville, Maryland. He was

an outstanding student and athlete with a wide circle of friends. Almost all of us attended all-
girls high schools in the area. We knew Brett well through social events, sports, church, and

various other activities. Many of us have remained close friends with him and his family over
the years. Through the more than 35 years we have known him, Brett has stood out for his
friendship, character, and integrity. In particular, he has always treated women with decency and
respect. That was true when he was in high school, and it has remained true to this day.
The signers of this letter hold a broad range of political views. Many of us are not
lawyers, but we know Brett Kavanaugh as a person. And he has always been a good person.

Have the FBI, or Congess question them all, then we will know better.
So, you think these 65 women are lying, but the one is telling the truth? They made their statement in writing, and signed their names, Jim.

                      • Kavanaugh says he has detailed calendars from high school which shows no evidence that he attended a party like the one Ford described.

Source: Kavanaugh to Give Senate Calendars From 1982 to Back Up Denial

The calendar pages from June, July and August 1982, which were examined by The New York Times, show that Judge Kavanaugh was out of town much of the summer at the beach or away with his parents. When he was at home, the calendars list his basketball games, movie outings, football workouts and college interviews. A few parties are mentioned but include names of friends other than those identified by Dr. Blasey.

It took me about 45 seconds to find the answer, Jim...

When word of a high-school-era sexual misconduct allegation against Kavanaugh emerged last Thursday afternoon, Meghan McCaleb and her husband, Scott, thought they and other high school friends of the nominee needed to speak out. Meghan McCaleb said she launched the letter-writing effort after discussing it with some of Kavanaugh’s former law clerks.

She said she contacted friends, who contacted more friends, and they had 65 signatures by the next morning.
