She's not parading around, it was a photo shoot. That's what they do in photo shots, and the costs of the outfits have no importance, are probably not even known to the subjects. until the nutters like the original poster try to make an issue of it in order to demonize her rather than deal with the issue of her ideological stances. That's a common tactic of the right, don't deal with the issue, just try to demonize the target.

I didn't ask for an "in a nutshell" -- you said I didn't understand socialism, so I want you to explain it to me. Your statement above doesn't tell me anything at all about socialism. Just what you think it's purpose is supposed to be. Which if it is supposed to prevent exploitation would indicate that running around showing how much more money you have than other people is a poor way of showing that. Not to mention every socialist country I know of does use money and power to exploit the people with less money. Look at Cuba. Or China. Or Vietnam. Or North Korea.

So please, tell me what socialism is so I understand it.

That’s ironic, considering the time spent on demonizing anyone to the right of Clinton. Anyway, if you’re trying to give an image of understanding the working class, do you think wearing outfits that cost more than a months pay is the best way to go about it?

You’re right because in socialist countries the leaders live in mansions while everyone else waits in breadlines.

In your imagination is this occurring in the reasonably successful communist countries such as China, Cuba and Vietnam? Or is it occurring in the world-leading social democracies like Denmark, Norway, Sweden etc?

Dude, you are on the internet right now. My definition of modern socialism isn't going to be radically different from any other common definition. It's unreasonable for you to expect me to write for you what amounts to a college essay.

Who is exploited by someone buying or using something expensive? And if you were to ask any modern socialist in the US, they would be opposed to the exploitation exhibited by those countries. One philosophy can have a myriad of executions, which you should know firsthand as a Christian.

That's a good description of the US, not so much of Nordic model countries.

I don't really know about Cuba or Vietnam, but China is "communist" in name only at this point.

It obviously depends on what your definition of "communism" is. But they are a single-party state run by a "communist" party and their government is very active in their economy and owns a large proportion of big businesses there. It seems to quack like a duck in terms of having a lot of the attributes traditionally associated with Communism.

China and Vietnam make money by exploiting low regulations and cheap labor, Cuba is a pretty poor country, and Denmark, Norway, and Sweden don’t call themselves socialist. Try again.

China still violates the rights of its people everyday.

In other words you don't know what socialism is. Yet you wanted to tell me I am ignorant because you disagreed with me. got it.

Query the Roma Gypsies in Sweden and Denmark. See how they treat them.

Or maybe he's afraid he'll end up describing the 'new' democrats.
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

I think he was hoping Starlight or someone would step in and bail him out with their standard socialism trope.
