This is an open forum area for all members for discussions on all issues of science and origins. This area will and does get volatile at times, but we ask that it be kept to a dull roar, and moderators will intervene to keep the peace if necessary. This means obvious trolling and flaming that becomes a problem will be dealt with, and you might find yourself in the doghouse.

The early Americans, by the way, consumed prodigious quantities of alcohol - even the Puritans. And the Temperance movement was a liberal Christian enterprise; it's amazing that it somehow transmogrified into a conservative Christian position.Veritas vos Liberabit<>< Learn Greek <>< Look here for an Orthodox Church in America<><Ancient Faith Radio

I've also heard somewhere(don't know where) that there were places to buy more wine if the wedding ran out, but it wouldn't have been as easy as going to the grocery store and buying the cheap wine. Jesus couldn't afford to buy the cheap stuff? Or He didn't want to?If it weren't for the Resurrection of Jesus, we'd all be in DEEP TROUBLE!

And if you had access to certain water sources, like a good well, then you didn't need to mix alcohol, but in the desert I imagine access to those water sources was rough. Dunno if dilution was something done when they served the "good stuff" during the first half of the wedding party (I imagine it almost certainly was by the time they brought out the worse stuff).
