Fraternity Guidelines

This is a guy's only forum. No girls allowed. Male bonding time.

In here we can leave the seat up, drink from the carton and talk about manly things without fear of the ladies butting in. You know how they can be.

But remember, always play by the rules: here
See more

There is a part of me that wants to drink, but I have health issues.

I'm not especially fond of the taste, either - and I got some añejo, which is supposed to be the good stuff.
Enter the Church and wash away your sins. For here there is a hospital and not a court of law. Do not be ashamed to enter the Church; be ashamed when you sin, but not when you repent. – St. John Chrysostom

Is there a table top game store near you? Usually they have game nights where people meet up to play various stuff. If you feel strongly about not drinking, then don't do it. I drink occasionally. I've also made the dumb mistake of getting too drunk before, too. It was a night where I had 5 shots of 5 different whiskies, rum, moonshine, and tequila to top it off. The next day my wife said, "Honey, never do that again." I haven't and never intend to ever get that drunk again. I didn't say anything mean or do anything to hurt myself, but I was sick and acting completely ridiculous (not in a good way). Alcohol is like a fire. If you keep it in a fire place and in safe conditions, it's quite pleasant. But it can also spread and burn your entire house down if you're not careful.
"Concentrate on what you have to do. Fix your eyes on it. Remind yourself that your task is to be a good human being; remind yourself what nature demands of people. Then do it, without hesitation, and speak the truth as you see it. But with kindness. With humility. Without hypocrisy."
        -Marcus Aurelius

I’ve had epilepsy all my life, but I still enjoyed the fairly frequent pint of beer when I was at university. Since then I have not had any beer at all and that was quite a long time ago. OTOH I hardly ever socialise 😀
