I would tend to doubt someone attempting to spin that as sarcasm - and I'm frequently sarcastic.
Enter the Church and wash away your sins. For here there is a hospital and not a court of law. Do not be ashamed to enter the Church; be ashamed when you sin, but not when you repent. – St. John Chrysostom

I recommend you do not try too hard and ...research as little as possible. Such weighty things give me a headache. - Shunyadragon, Baha'i apologist

And the fact that it was deleted rather than defended as sarcasm by Dumas....
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

She did say it was sarcasm (in addition to deleting it).

With respect to parties, I frankly don't think either side was particularly effective or balanced in their treatment. Democrats showed themselves perfectly willing to jump on Kavanaugh without adequate evidence, and Republicans to jump on Ford without adequate evidence. The media was all over the map. Fox and Brietbart and the like were happy to jump on Ford and defend Kavanaugh. Mother Jones and CNN and the like were happy to jump on Kavanaugh and defend Jones. Other outlets, those closer to center, were a bit more balanced in their reporting.

All in all, not exactly our most shining moment as a nation. For myself, I still saw nothing to push me off the "I don't know" position. There were concerning statements and testimony from both sides. If I have a reason for not wanting Kavanaugh on the bench - it has to do with a) his amazingly juvenile performance during his post-Ford hearing, and b) my concerns about the court slipping to the right and losing the balance it once had. I have no position on the accusations against him since those have nowhere near been settled, IMO.
The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy...returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Martin Luther King
