Spag. westerns
We have the western channel and I have been watching some westerns lately. The Sabata trilogy has been on lately, and they got me a little bit confused. Has anybody here seen them?
There is a couple of actors in all three that play different roles in each movie. I don't really get it. Are the european viewers not as smart. Did they think they wouldn't notice. Or is this some kind of Italian movie quirk that isn't seen too often. One of the actors in question is Pedro Sanchez, he plays a begger in the first, a town employee in the next and a revolutionary in the last movie. He doesn't have the same name and the relationship with Sabato always starts over in each. It is kind of wierd seeing the same actor and you start thinking, oh there is his partner, but nope it's not.
Is there any movie bluffs or experts out there that can help me out?brown eyes your pulse is getting hotter, brown eyes your pulse is getting quicker, quote Captain Badass "I am setting you heart on fire, so when you leave me I will burn on in your soul." you won't have to think twice if it's love you will know

Re: Spag. westerns
I wouldn't be too concerned about character continuity in old spaghetti westerns like that.

Though I'm not familiar with the movies you're referring to, it doesn't surprise me that much. Heck, you surely know about the movie Gettysburg and its prequel, Gods & Generals.
Well, one of the actors plays different, famous historical figures in the two movies. Stephen Lang played Gen. Pickett in Gettysburg, but then went back in time to give the performance of a lifetime (imho) as Gen. "Stonewall" Jackson. (This performance alone is worth the price of admission or rental; it blew me away, even though I was markedly disappointed with the rest of the film.)
It's not unheard of for an actor to play different roles in movies of the same storyline. It's rare, but it happens even in major films. So it shouldn't be too surprising when you see it in such minor and relatively unknown films like the ones you mentioned.
Additionally, keep in mind that back then, a moviegoer would see one film, wait a year or two before seeing the sequel, and then again for the next sequel. They didn't have these movies on TV, and they didn't have movie rentals. It's easy for us to take it for granted today, but back then you would have likely forgotten that actor each time you went back to see the next film in the series.
:rigreen:Thanks for your patience in the thread's I have previously committed myself to. Things are still difficult and topsy-turvy here, and I may actually start work somewhere this week (strong likelihood), so I'll do my best to answer some of those threads! See you in the forums...
