This is an invalid comparison. The “birtherism” claim, repeated ad infinitum by Trump, was proven to be a lie...and yet he kept repeating it. Whereas, “collusion” is still under investigation. But it is known that Russia interfered in the 2016 elections to help Trump and hurt Hillary. And Trump and his family or his associates may yet be found to have colluded. The only one making an issue over this is Trump with constant “Pocahontas “references. Technically, the 'bet' by Trump was to prove that she was 'Indian', which was odd as that was never the original claim to begin with, as you rightly mention.
