Just to show there is a exception to every rule, Republican candidate for Governor in Pennsylvania, Scott Wagner, recently said in a campaign video on Facebook he will "stomp all over" his opponent's "face with golf spikes." To be fair this is obvious hyperbole and at least he isn't trying to incite others to violence -- to do a James Hodgkinson.

    • I am a Native American. I have some questions for Elizabeth Warren

      simon-moya-smith-head-shot-story-body.jpg

      (CNN)

Elizabeth Warren released the results of a DNA test that suggests she has distant Native American heritage -- but that doesn't change anything for me, and other Natives like me, for that matter. My question still stands: Elizabeth Warren, where the hell have you been?

Seriously, let's not waste any time here, because I have a lot of questions.

Why didn't she say anything about the literal attacks on human rights and treaty violations during our fight against the Dakota Access Pipeline in North Dakota in 2016? While water protectors were being shot with water from cannons in freezing temperatures, while dogs were set on Natives protecting their ancestors' graves, and while Natives and allies were locked into "dog kennels," Warren's silence was deafening. While she eventually weighed in with a statement on Facebook, that was rightly and widely dismissed as too little, too late.

Why, up until only earlier this year, hasn't Warren said anything about police brutality in Indian country? Natives are more likely to die at the hands of police then any other demographic, yet for years, her voice -- her allegedly Native voice -- was nowhere to be found.

Why, up until only earlier this year, hasn't she said anything about sexual abuse in Indian country? Native women are 2.5 times more likely to be sexually assaulted than women of any other group, and yet not a peep from Warren about the attack on the people she claims to be a part of.

What makes it even more perplexing is that she was one of the point people for efforts by women in Congress to address harassment on Capitol Hill and co-sponsored proposed legislation to force companies to disclose harassment settlements -- yet only this year, speaking to the National Congress of American Indians, has she mentioned this alarming statistic.

Warren claims now to have Native American heritage. And her claim to having such heritage -- versus a claim of actually being Native -- feels sneaky to me. Where has she been on these many issues that plague our communities? Although the results from her DNA test are new, her identity claims here aren't. Why has she ignored us for so long? Why only now come around? This latest disclosure lets her save face without having responsibilities to the Native community she's claiming to share heritage with.

Furthermore, name me one nation or tribe that claims her. None do.

It's obvious to anyone with eyes in their sockets or brains in their heads: because Warren needs our stamp of approval and our vote as she contemplates a potential presidential run. That's why.

But some of our very own Tweb lefties still defend Warren's scam.
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

You are in error, as usual. No high-profile liberal has called for any violence whatsoever. Whereas high-profile conservatives, e.g. Trump, have called for violence, e.g. Trump saying he'd pay his supporters legal bills if they punched a liberal protester. As usual you're projecting.

He won’t nor does it appear he’ll back up his bald assertion and will refuse to retract it. Oh well, rabid hatred does strange things to even the smartest of people, it appears.

False. Reporters several years back did extensive research into this including interviewing her various employers etc. At no point in her career did she ever claim minority status for advantages, nor was it on her CV, nor were her employers aware of it at the time they employed her. They employed her because she was one of the best law professors in the country, not because they thought her native american.

It is the idiotic right-wing who made absurd claims about this. What happened was at some point she was listed on a website as a member of the faculty who had some native american ancestry. When the right-winger running against her did opposition-research he trumpeted this claim in the media and claimed it was false. Warren's Republican brothers however attested that Warren was not making this up and they were all told this by their parents, and the DNA test now suggests this was correct. Trump, being the idiot he is, took the issue to new and racist heights calling her "Pocahontas" regularly as he mocked the idea she had any native american descent whatsoever. Now her DNA test shows she has been truthful about the matter, and the moronic right, once again, is 100% wrong. The idiots in this thread can't admit that to themselves though.

              • Even CNN....

Elizabeth Warren might have actually made things worse with her DNA gambit

(CNN)Twenty-four hours after Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren shocked the political world with a five-minute video (and a mountain of documentation) aimed at putting to bed the controversy over her claims of Native American heritage, it's becoming increasingly clear the strategy amounts to a swing and a miss.

Warren's goal was to take the issue of her heritage off the table for nervous Democrats and to show that she was ready, willing and able to stand up to President Donald Trump if and when the time came that she was the party's nominee against him in 2020. The problem is that, when you strip away all of the glitz of her well-produced video, you are left with this: There's still no certainty that Warren is, in any meaningful way, Native American.

Is the fact that you consider Joseph Stalin a right-winger have anything to do with your claim that "no high-profile liberal has called for any violence whatsoever"?

The DNA test disclosed that Warren is among the whitest of white Americans with AT BEST half the African and half the Native American DNA that the average American of European descent has.

                          • The test said that her ancestor was maybe 6 to 10 generations in the past, so about 200-years ago. To put this into perspective, Warren's great great great great great great grand parent was possibly Native American, and according to genealogical records, her family tree has been exclusively white ever since.

In other words, she's as Native American as Pizza Hut is Italian.

The reality denial by Starlight, JimL, and Tassman has been rather interesting to watch. If she’s an Indian, so am I. It shows how truly ridiculous many have shown themselves to become under Trump.
