yeah he worked in a Library. Someone with that degree could also work at a law firm or doing research at any number of places.

In Denmark each education has a grade level you have to have gotten above to take it. This is not due to the difficulty of those jobs, they're simply adjusted so only as many people enter those fields as the field supports. Ideally how many the field support should be reflected in the budgets the various departments receive (among other considerations). However we still end up with quite a few unemployed and hard to employ people who are experts in litterature and history.

Those fields are exciting and wonderful, we just don't need a ton of people in it. Some number of highly qualified individuals, yes. But probably not more than that.

Its nice to see the US the continuing to improve as its done ever since the market crash. But I predict that labor force participation rate will go down again in the future. Its a global trend.

Indeed. Most of the economic trend lines in the US have been pretty steadily improving since 2009. There's been little difference between the Trump and Obama administrations in that respect.

Well labor force participation is a silly metric because it primarily measures how many retired people there are in the population. As the baby boomers retire, that big demographic moving out of the work force will reduce labor force participation. That's why everyone ignores that metric... except Republicans under Obama who wanted to dig up an obscure and irrelevant metric in order to misleadingly claim Obama's economy was doing badly.

So, Trump wasn't the disaster the libs predicted he'd be?

I'm pleasantly surprised, though the US deficit is on the rise, not declining.

That is good ... on its own. But the cost of letting that improvement cause us to ignore other very important issues related to fundamental principles of a successful democracy and freedom is potentially very, very high.

Are "the libs" a single group? Am I in it? Care to back up your bizarre claim with any citation of me saying anything of the sort?

Trump's done nothing much of substance on the economy, hence the trend lines from Obama largely continuing. Trump's tax cut scam has only been mildly harmful, and the full impacts of his tariffs and trade wars have yet to hit.

I don't know many predicting Trump would be a necessary disaster economically. Although we have yet to see the full effect of his trade war with Chine and others. Most economically minded people were glad he came to power.

But he most certainly has been far worse than anyone could have predicted as it relates to how he has handled immigration, how he has handled relations with our NATO allies, how he gravitated more and more towards nationalist and even racist policies, how he has undermined US moral authority both by his personal behavior and his admiration of dictators and dictatorships, his unwillingness to avoid personal financial conflicts of interest etc etc.
