Luke is probably my favorite gospel, but my favorite verse overall is Matthew 11:28.

"Fire is catching. If we burn, you burn with us!"
"I'm not going anywhere. I'm going to stay here and cause all kinds of trouble."

Christ our Passover has been sacrificed for us. Therefore let us keep the feast.

Mine are Romans and Ephesians, Galatians a close third.

I recently heard somebody say, in reference to Luke being written by the same author as Acts....

"Acts is the second of a two-volume series -
written by the same guy (Luke)
          to the same guy (Theophilus)
          about the same guy (Jesus)

I had the order of all the books down pretty early; it helped with "sword" drills.

For those uninitiated, a "sword drill" was where the Junior Church (attended by kids until 6th grade instead of the main Sunday morning service) leader would say a verse reference, and the first person to find it in their Bible would stand up and read it, and get a prize.

If you have to explain sword drills, are they even a Christian?

I spent MANY a Saturday morning as a kid being hauled to different Sword Drill and Speaker Tournaments -- then, when I was a youth minister, I did a lot of the hauling.

I sure do miss those - and was always amazed at how some kids could so quickly find the target verse!

Here's the little fella who sings all the books of the NT, then adds his own little special part!

The Orthodox Study Bible really messes me up, because they stick extra books in the OT AND rearrange them (I understand they're placed in the traditional LXX order). The NT is from the NKJV, so that at least is normal.

My Stone Tanakh is also in a different order, being Jewish.

Can't remember what we called it but it wasn't "sword drills."
