  • Desperate Dems use false ads to try to trick republicans into not voting

North Dakota Democratic Party discourages hunters from voting, claims they could lose out-of-state licenses

The North Dakota Democratic Party is discouraging hunters from voting in the upcoming election, claiming they could lose their out-of-state hunting licenses if they do so.

“Attention hunters: If you vote in North Dakota, you may forfeit hunting licenses you have in other states. If you want to keep your out-of-state hunting licenses, you may not want to vote in North Dakota,” the ad says, linking to a similar warning on the North Dakota Democratic-NPL website.

    ...
A spokesman for the North Dakota Game and Fish Department said it was not involved in the ad and didn't back the message.

“I don’t know what they’re talking about,” Robert Timian, the chief game warden, told Fox News.

He said he wasn’t aware of any similar ads in the past.

North Dakota Secretary of State Al Jaeger also told political blogger Rob Port he’s never heard such a claim before.

North Dakota Sen. Heidi Heitkamp, a Democrat, is in danger of losing her seat to Republican Rep. Kevin Cramer in next week’s election. Fox News has ranked the race as likely Republican.

Whatever is going on we know one thing for certain. It is not, repeat not, an attempt at voter suppression. Only mean ol' Republicans do that because they hate everyone.

I'm always still in trouble again

      Stuff like this usually backfires.

I can't believe anybody would fall for that ad anyway.

Maybe in Louisiana or another southern state, but not ND.

That was sarcasm, btw, in case anybody from LA was offended.

Indeed deliberately misleading voters about elections is a pretty standard horrific Republican trick in their playbook. They send mailers out to probable democratic voters lying about the polling places and election dates etc. It's disgusting. I view the right to vote in a democracy as absolutely sacred and think any false information propagated about voting in elections or any attempt to stop people voting is absolutely evil and should be harshly punished by law.

While this North Dakota ad does not appear to be being circulated widely (it's only on their website and facebook page), I absolutely condemn such propagation of false voting information. Even though you could say it is a clone of Republican ads that claim voting out of state as a student will hurt you, it is still absolutely wrong to mislead people with regard to their voting rights even if the other side is doing it.

In this instance it seems unlikely to change anything anyway because North Dakota is not a particularly competitive senate race (Republicans are going to win it), and the Republicans have already locked-in their victory by evilly disenfranchising Native American voters by requiring street addresses on the ID which the Reservations do not have, as has previously been discussed.

Poor Starlight, flat ignoring that the primary mission of the first KKK was to keep blacks from voting and the KKK was founded by democrats. If anything, that would be from the democrat playbook.

Are you so dumb you don't understand that the parties flipped and that the KKK was comprised of the southern religious conservatives who vote Republican now? Or are you just deliberately trying to deceive others by ignoring this?

Sweety, that is a legend. There were active members of congress that had deep ties to the KKK serving as members of congress into the early 2000’s and they were democrats, not Republicans. Problem is that you’ll believe anything that whispers sweet nothings into your ears, even if you need to sell yourself on the lie that only one side tries to keep large groups of people that don’t tend to vote for them from voting.

Louisiana isn't "another state". It's its own country, with its own language, culture, currency... We have a number of foreign missionaries serving there.

I remember when I was in college, somebody was trying to warn out of state students that they could lose financial aid if they registered to vote where they attended school (I made contacted some people to examine it, it was an empty threat).

Doesn't Texas have a very similar attitude?

Can you give us some examples of this asserted claim that this is something Republicans commonly do?

Your "I condemn this copycat of republican tactics" is laughable. You can't even condemn something for what it it without trying to blame the republicans for something the democrats are doing.

                          Dumbass.
