Not to mention some of the shady stuff that has happened during the current investigation itself, such as Mueller intentionally withholding exculpatory evidence in order to coerce cooperation from witnesses, or filing indictments against "Russian trolls" for which he is unprepared to release the evidence.

Funny how such a "ramrod straight" guy does so much stuff that can only be described as sketchy.

I cannot speak to Starr - I know little about his background. As for Kavanaugh... I can only say

There was too much from both sides that had merit for me to come to a conclusion. So I am still in the "I have no idea" position.

Wake up dummies. Trump got rid of Sessions and installed Whiticker, a loyalist, for one reason only, and that's because he is pooping his pants over what he knows is coming from Muellar. He wants this guy to obstruct the investigation. What's it going to take to snap you Trumpster guys out of your cultic stupor?

Jim - do you have ANY discussion mode other than "acerbic?"

Yup, I can be very sweet when I want to be carpe. But I don't always want to be. You have to take into account the acerbic nature of those I deal with here.

OBP - he may be acerbic - but his numbers are correct. Republicans saw significant losses in their dominance. Not enough loses, mind you, but significant ones - especially at state levels. Dems picked up seats in pretty much every sector except the U.S. Senate. That includes governorships, state AGs, state legislatures, and the U.S. house. Reps still dominate, but that domination was significantly eroded. Hopefully, 2020 will continue that erosion and bring our state and federal governments more into balance.

It wasn't nearly the wave they were hoping for. I agree, the Dems picked up significant gains in many places. I also agree that the Republicans had a significant edge in most places, and they were due for a correction.

So, for you pants-pooping progressives who are certain Whittaker is there to dispose of the Mueller investigation --

How will you respond if he does not actually do that? What if, at least for the next few months, he does nothing at all to halt or limit the scope or financing of the investigation, but DOES almost immediately honor the House subpoenas, DOES release the unredacted documents POTUS promised to declassify, DOES provide whatever it was (I can't recall at the moment) the House requested and Sessions refused? Perhaps even better, what if instead of limiting the Mueller investigation or its resources, he orders it expanded to include any potential Russian "collusion" by the Clinton campaign? (And of course, any other potential crimes discovered in the course of THAT investigation.)
