I said I would be OK with it if it could be done right. The 'done right' is the part I am doubtful over. The government has pretty much screwed up the singlepayer system it has now, Medicare. I will retire in about 10 years and trying to figure out which plan(s) I need and how much it will cost me and what it will cover is a freaking nightmare.

I'm on Medicare, with a good supplement. It is no big deal. Not hard to navigate... As a matter of fact the whole Social Security system does pretty well.

So, you haven't changed your mind then. Gotcha! It can be a nightmare though, and republicans want to keep it a nightmare, so stop electing them and it won't be such a nightmare anymore. Have you ever seen republicans actually try to come up with a fix themselves? Of course not!

Thanks for not only showing how much of a partisin hack you are but how much you seem to hate yourself. Quite revealing, if you ask me.

But I love how Jim claims "we" did it, like he was part of the strategery.

I'm right behind you, but I'm healthy for a fat old fart, so I don't really know what the services will be like.

It was the "foundation" only in the sense that the existing structure was demolished and something entirely new was erected in its place.

I might need your help when I retire! It looks like medicare and the various supplements is going to end up costing me more per month in premiums than I am paying for healthcare now. How is that "free healthcare?"

OK, you will pay $135 for part A a month, I have a supplement that coast $220 a month (through Anthem). That covers most tier one and two drugs (generics) and everything else. I pay no co-pays on doctor or hospital visits or surgeries or tests after my once a year deductible of $180.00.

So you pay $355 a month for "free" insurance? Right now I am paying about $100/month for my part of my insurance I get at work.

No, my work pays the $220 end. I do pay the $135 to Medicare part A. Of course being a Vet I could get just about everything for free, but I'll leave that to the guys who really need it.

Yeah but when I retire I will have to pay it all myself. That's what I am complaining about. The "free healthcare" will cost me more than the private healthcare does. If the government has screwed up the socialized healthcare plans it has now so badly, why would I expect them to handle it for the entire country any better?

Just like Obamacare ended up costing everyone more so will "free healthcare" they will give you some minimum healthcare for "free" and then make you buy government supplied "supplement" plans to cover necessities like dental, medicine, doctor visits, etc.

The system is not system is not screwed up, it works rather well. It is just not as "free" as you might imagine. Beside I have no plans on retiring anyway.
