So let's say Russia posted a bunch of memes and ads on Facebook favoring Trump and demonizing Hillary.
That was pretty much the consensus of conservatives anyway and what the American conservatives were already saying.
So how is what Russia did illegal?
Obama openly endorsed Macron in the French election and openly urged French citizens to vote for Macron. Isn't that even worse? Why doesn't anyone have a problem with that?

Because studies have shown that nearly all influence is either ineffective or just pushes someone further in the direction they were already leaning. People normally don't change their minds

As has been pointed out to me by you guys several times, Whataboutism occurs when we try to excuse one action by saying what about another. I am not trying to excuse what the russians did, just wondering why what Obama did isn't just as wrong?
And what was illegal about Russia buying ads and making memes to influence the election?
Now IF Trump asked Russia to interfere on his behalf, that would be wrong and illegal. But there is no evidence of that.Last edited by Sparko; 11-16-2018, 11:01 AM.
