Yeah, but the guy who decides to end it will go down in the annals of history on par with....

Supposedly began when Abraham Lincoln pardoned the (Christmas) Turkey which his son Tad became attached to as his pet.

That's the story I usually hear - the turkey was raised to be eaten, but the issue got a Tad touchy.

On this.... Which president started the tradition of pardoning the Thanksgiving turkey?

As far as I can remember, however, I don't recall any other POTUS mixing politics into it - it has been "just for fun".

It's Trumps purpose at every oportunity to try and demean democratic institutions in the eyes of the people..

Meanwhile, in the interest of fairness, I tried finding even a hint of Obama politicizing the Turkey Pardon... all I could come up with was bad 'Dad Jokes' told in good humor.

That you, after 2 years, I mean, I'll give you a pass early on, but that 2 years later and you're still blind to Trumps purpose, that my friend is truely demeaning of your own intelligence. You my empty headed friend belong to the clueless dunces for Trump club. I'd say that some day, you know, when he's impeached, in prison, or in exile in russia, that like your more intelligent compadres, you'll finally get it, but I can't, because I don't actually think you ever will get it, you're that brain dead. Sad!

When I read the Headline "White House turkey pardoned" I honestly thought it was referring to Trump... oops, my bad.

Pardon me, but he's the Turkey doing the pardoning.

He can't even be classy when pardoning his own kind.
