Seriously, CP, I'm not going to waste any more time on discussions about my personality, motivations, or agenda. Your observations are duly noted. If you find conversations with me tiresome, I suggest you do what I suggested to OBP and Sparko: simply engage with someone else. I promise my feelings won't be hurt.

Meanwhile, I'm going to get out of the business of defending myself. I'll defend my arguments and positions, but I'm not going to waste any more time trying to correct someone's misconceptions about my intentions - especially when they've made it clear they aren't open to anything I might have to say. The exercise is pointless.

The second part is a description of an existing pattern of behavior. But the first part is indeed an expectation, opening the possibility that I may be seeing what I am looking for (based on previous experience) in subsequent posts. It's a natural, but dangerous, habit. Good catch and you're right to call me on it. Thanks for pointing out the inconsistency.
