Such broad sweeping statements are almost always inaccurate - and these are no exception. I won't speak for the MSM. I will speak for myself - I distinguish between Trump's errors, his hyperbole, and his blatant lies. If you think otherwise, then I invite you to show me a post where I have done otherwise.

And yet you gleefully post links to articles that don't and expect us to take them seriously.

You mean a broad sweeping statement like this?

The man is a chronic liar and in no position to asset the truth or falseness of any proposition.

That statement is specific to Trump - and reflective of the behavior I see - which aligns with his own statements about his own philosophy. He has publicly acknowledged that he has lied and made things up and is proud of it (Trudeau, the "Art of the Deal"). I'm not reading his mind - I'm reflecting his stated position as affirmed by his public behavior.

            So - apples and oranges.

Right, you never make sweeping broadbrush comments like everything Trump says is a lie and he doesn't even bother to distinguish truth from lie.

OK I am done here. I didn't mean to pull a Chuck on you. I just wanted to get you to see that you do the very things you accuse others of. If you don't believe me, that is your decision, but maybe you will be a bit more self-aware in the future. Or not.

There is more information about the situation here, including an examination of the two recipients. Note that TPM is considered a left-leaning source, so beware the left-leaning spin/language.

It does appear that the information WAS given to a Russioan oligarch, with the intention of it being passed on to the two Ukranian oligarchs. There is still the open question of why ANY of this pre-election polling data was being given to these individuals by the Trump campaign.
Well yes, you would have to get an admittance from the parties involved concerning the purpose of their wanting this polling data, but common sense will do. What other reason would oligarchs tied to the Kremlin, which was itself involved with interfering in the U.S. Presidential election, want U.S. Presidential election polling data. I think we can make a pretty safe assumption as to why they wanted it.

We can speculate - and it seems fairly likely - but we really don't know (based on what has been published so far) what was going on. I have to admit, I cannot conceive of any other explanation other than they wanted Ukrainian/Russian support (of some sort) for Trump's campaign/election.

I'd be curious to know if anyone can offer anther possibility...

The irony is that Hillary actually used her Ukrainian connections to try and influence the election.
