In the news today here, NZ is going to sign the UN migration compact, but not adopt an open borders policy.
International Gallup polling has found that if all borders were open, that NZ would experience the greatest percentage population change of any country, more than tripling in population size with a +231% gain to population (followed by Singapore, Iceland, United Arab Emirates, Switzerland, Australia, Kuwait, Bhutan, Canada, Luxembourg). The US would experience a +46% population change, just behind Ireland at +48%.
The notion of global open borders seems implausible at this stage, if "good" countries are simply going to be utterly overwhelmed by people looking to move out of their "bad" countries. Though it's worth noting that about 85% of the world's population would remain in their current countries even if they had the option of moving anywhere they wanted."I hate him passionately", he's "a demonic force" - Tucker Carlson, in private, on Donald Trump

But I am suspicious of that survey. It says Canada is right up there with New Zealand as more popular than the USA. Yet both of your countries have a very small population and Canada doesn't seem to get a lot of people clamoring to move there. We can't even get our liberals to move there after we elected Trump and they promised!
But hey, maybe people want to move to New Zealand because of the hobbits.

But I suspect Canada looks more popular than the US because the chart gives population percentages rather than absolute numbers, and Canada has a much much smaller population.Jorge: Functional Complex Information is INFORMATION that is complex and functional.
