There are conservatives in Denmark. Otherwise there would not be a center-right government or populist right-wing party. God gave you a brain so you can use it, you're not impressing him by keeping it in mint condition.

COPENHAGEN — Denmark will require anyone who takes Danish citizenship to shake hands at the naturalization ceremony, under a law passed on Thursday, which lawmakers say is aimed at Muslims who refuse on religious grounds to touch members of the opposite sex.

The law has prompted strong reactions from some of the mayors who must conduct such ceremonies, and who are upset that they will become the faces and fists of a policy they call awkward, “purely symbolic” and irrelevant to an applicant’s qualifications. They say the Danish Parliament, which approved the measure, has artificially elevated a social custom to a national value.

But Denmark is not alone. Authorities in Switzerland and France have recently cited “lack of assimilation” in rejection of citizenship to foreigners who refuse to shake hands with officials.

Like Leonhard has repetedly informed you there are many purely symbolic things going on in Danish politics only meant to fool people into thinking there is a real problem that some politicians are brave enough to solve. It fools a lot of people, you and seer included.

Btw this has been going on for more than 15 years so it appears you don't know much about it if you think it is a new phenomenon. There are many significant changes in Scandinavia, you have not pointed to them.

And it is not the only one. There is also the so called burqa ban (though it does not specifically mention the burqa):

The current number of women who wear the veil in Denmark is unknown, but the most recent research suggests it is very few. A 2009 study by Margit Warburg, a professor in sociology of religion at the University of Copenhagen, indicates less than 0.2% of Muslim women in the country wear the niqab or burqa—an estimated 150 women out of a country of 5.7 million. “It is really a very small minority out of a minority out of a minority,” says Warburg.
