  • Trump now admits to some 'interaction' with Russia ...

He calls it 'peanut stuff' - but the writing is on the wall ...

    Source: reuters

Asked about prosecutors’ assertions that a number of people who had worked for him met or had business dealings with Russians before and during his 2016 presidential campaign, Trump said: “The stuff you’re talking about is peanut stuff.”

He then followed the script of so many here and asked about Hillary/Russia and the lack of prosecution there.

But the question regarding the 2016 election results and the legitimacy of the Trump presidency is not 'what about Hillary/Russia'. That question is 'what about Trump/Russia'. And we have here the first chink out of the Trump 'stonewall' of the 'total witch hunt'.

Notice also we've also gone from "I had nothing to do with those payments" to defending why he made the payments as regards the payoffs of the women who allege affairs with him.

Anyone remember Lance Armstrong and his drug doping denials?

The pattern with aggressive liars is all pretty much the same.

What does that have to do with collusion Jim? We already knew that Trump was trying to build in Moscow, since 1997 BTW. A bid he dropped when he was nominated.

It has never been disputed that members of Trump's campaign staff and transition team interacted with Russian officials. It's perfectly normal for any presidential campaign. It happened with Hillary; and Obama; and McCain; and Romney; and Gore; and Kerry; and Bush; and Clinton; etc. etc. etc. Not only did they "interact" with Russia but with officials from a number of other countries.

This is much ado about nothing.

Even pretending for the sake of argument that Trump colluded with the Russkies, his quid pro quos would have to be spectacularly heinous to rise above Obama's on-mic gaffe and Hillary's selling of State Department access for Clinton Foundation donations, both of which elicit a collective yawn from those so eagerly going after Trump. This whole thing is nothing more than sour grapes.

You know better than to compare Trump to anyone else! None of that matters! Pay no attention to the people behind the curtain!

Wrong again. You guys always focusing on what did or did not happen to Obama and Hillary are the actual sour grapes - to the point you swallow the Camel (Trump) just to bellyache about it.

I was not an Obama supporter. I was not a Hillary supporter. You are way off in the weeds. The issue is Trump and how bad he is for this country, for the world.

Well, he's NOT bad for the country, at least the parts that matter for a President. So, there's that...

Yes, you've said so many times. Now, explain to me why Trump's alleged collusion with Russia is so much worse than Obama's promise to work with the Russian president post-election and Hillary's selling access to the State Department. I'm not interested in your views on "Trump and how bad he is for this country, for the world" - just the topic of collusion.

The hillary thing is bad yes. But I am not sure why I would need to explain how securing the aid of a foreign country to gain the presidency in the US would be worse than efforts by a person legitimately elected to power to secure peace between the nations through various negotiations, no matter how misguided they might be, or an under the table mechanism to get heard by donating to a foundation (worse that Obama's mistake but not as bad as directly garnering help to win the presidency from a potentially hostile power)

Indeed, honestly, it is direct evidence of your own bias that you can even consider there is a question about the 'order of badness' for the three events.

To me its fairly obvious that to secure the aid of a foreign power in gaining the US presidency makes one a likely permanently bought agent of that same foreign power. That would always be significantly worse than misguided or naive negotiations in the Obama case. Or even an under the table tit-for tat arrangement to secure an audience with important people in the Hillary case. Neither of the latter cases necessarily represents an imminent security thread. The former DOES!

Cute picture MM. You do it yourself?

Upset implies a lack of control or reason. I am not 'Upset'. I am seriously concerned about who trump is, and what it means that Christians can be solidly behind a man like that. And I am seriously concerned about what the Trump presidency means for this country and its culture and its relationship with the world. (and that is not to say that I am not ALSO concerned about what certain Democratic policies mean for this country, its culture, and its relationship with the world).

Your own words betray you, and your posts about Trump have a distinct unhinged quality to them.

Trump is no saint. I readily admit it. But he's not the devil himself as you seem to think.
