Elizabeth Warren today announced that she is running for President (well, "forming an exploratory committee" which is basically the same thing). Her announcement ad is pretty good:
Warren has a strong record on standing up to Wall St and standing against corruption. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau created by her has successfully prosecuted criminal behavior to the tune of over $8.6 billion, returning much of that money to the people who were defrauded.
But however much I love her focus on corruption and white-collar crime and Wall St, her background/interest in other policy areas seems a little weak. That is one reason for me why I view her as being only the second-equal best option (along with a few other lesser-known Progressives) for the Democratic nominee, behind Bernie who seems a clear first choice.
P.S. No racial slurs please in this thread (by which I mean I'm banning the word "Pocahontas").
