  • House Democrat reintroduces impeachment articles against Trump

    https://www.cnn.com/2019/01/03/polit...ump/index.html

At least one House Democrat isn't going along with Nancy Pelosi's plea that it's too early to talk about impeaching President Donald Trump.

Rep. Brad Sherman, a California Democrat, plans to re-introduce articles of impeachment against Trump on the first day of the new Congress, he said Thursday. Sherman was one of three Democrats who introduced resolutions to impeach Trump in 2017, along with Reps. Al Green of Texas and Steve Cohen of Tennessee, part of an effort from a small wing of House Democrats seeking to remove the President from office.

Sherman told CNN Thursday that his goal is to force the conversation on impeachment when special counsel Robert Mueller's report comes out, saying he is simply doing the same thing he did in 2017 to push the discussion, accusing Trump of obstructing justice.

Pelosi at least pays lip-service to not using impeachment as a political weapon, but I doubt that's her private opinion.

The last thing most Dem politicians want to do is impeach Trump. He gave them the biggest midterm victories in history. He's the gift that keeps on giving. They'd love to run against him in 2020.

Yeah, Democrat losses under Obama were far greater.

Once again you reveal that you know less than nothing about American politics. For instance, just eight short years ago the Republicans gained 63 seats in the House as compared to the Democrats gaining 40 to 41 seats in the House this year. Eight years ago the Republicans gained seven seats in the Senate whereas instead of losing seats they actually picked up 2 seats in the Senate this year.

But maybe you're not just spectacularly ignorant. Maybe you are just incapable of doing basic math. smiley dolt.gif

Yippee. The treasonous scum bag should have been impeached long ago. It's probably better for the country though at this point to wait until he is voted out and then we can indict him for all his many crimes including the crime of treason, conspiracy with a foriegn enemy.

Democrats won the House with the largest midterms margin of all time:

Democrats took control of the House this year with the largest midterms margin of victory in history, surpassing the previous record of 8.7 million votes in 1974, according to NBC News election data.

The vote differential between the two parties was the largest it's ever been. Of course in a modern age of gerrymandered seats a record vote win doesn't equate to a record seat win.

You are, of course, allowed to use a different metric by which 2018 wasn't the biggest win ever. But I think an apology to me for your previous post would be appropriate.

I like how Liberals think running up the totals in the cities is their key to victory.

No. You're an idiot if you think the Democrats gaining slightly above average seats in the House during a mid-term election and actually suffering losses in the Senate counts as "the biggest midterm victories in history" as you proclaimed. You're even more of an idiot for mindlessly regurgitating pap just because it is something you want to believe. Step outside of your echo chamber every once in a while.

A couple months ago some Democrat consultant was bemoaning how much money was spent by Hollyweird performers and the tech industry contributors inside California to gin up the vote there in 2016 since it was a state they were already sure they would win.

Star posted some inconsequential crap about vote differential, which has nothing to do with anything other than whooptie doo stats. Seats are what matter, not vote differential.
