I have to agree. Most of the stuff he comes up with makes me shake my head and wonder what the ___? He is very far off in (literally) left field.

I’ve lived in other western countries and while the US runs more consecutive than average, you’re quite a bit more liberal.

About 4, assuming you count the UK. Though, these days not even the UK knows whether they are European or not.

BTW, I'm from New Zealand not Europe, in case you were assuming. I'm only European racially, not geographically. There's probably more Kiwis and Aussies among the regular posters here than there are Europeans.

Sure, I'm further liberal/left than average, but generally not so far as to make people in most western countries even blink - most of what I advocate for is well within mainstream political dialog in most Western countries. Whereas as Sparko notes, a lot of US conservatives literally haven't ever heard of many of these standard Western leftist viewpoints.

The political views of my family have developed relatively independently from each other. My siblings live in different cites (and countries), read different news sources and books, and their different occupations probably affect their politics far more than talking to me ever has. And among my extended family there are very much those whose views do not at all match my own.
