Good choice. I actually can't stand to watch him either - so I listened to the Democratic response, and then found and read his speech. The man is nauseating to watch live.

I have to say Trump is lousy at reading speeches. Sounded just like a kid reading a paper out loud in school. He even pronounced "the" as "Thee" instead of "Thuh" - and his eyes kept flitting back and forth as he read the teleprompter. I think we can no longer make fun of Obama and the teleprompter any more.

As to the content, it was obviously written for him and didn't sound like him at all. Hardly no Trump adjectives except a "tremendous" here and there.

I think the content was nothing new. Same thing he has been saying before about needing security at the border, how innocent people are dying because of the criminals and drugs getting across the border. How the criminals are using children as a method to get across the border.

I disagree with Carp about any lies. Trump was giving his opinion and view on the matter. That isn't lying any more than it is for Carp to give his views here on Tweb. We can disagree with opinions but that isn't lying. I am sick and tired of people calling someone's view a "lie" just because they don't agree with it.
Some things are opinions - and other things are just flat-out wrong. When they are repeated after having been shown to be wrong - they are simply lies. I'm not going to bother with the list (again) because it serves no purpose: Trump supporters simply sweep the lies under the rug and ignore they ever happened.

I have to wonder just how they look at themselves in the mirror each morning.

He would read a line or two and then go off on a tangent for several minutes before returning to the script.
Anyone who can listen to a Trump speech and call him "very good" is not in full command of the English language. What Trump is good at is rallying a crowd with buzzwords that get their blood up. But he can't complete a cogent sentence to save his life. Reading one of his "extemporaneous" speeches is like reading a text created by someone who randomly chose the sequence of words out of a bingo-like box.

Heckle and Jeckle were just as bad -- and they looked downright stupid.

Both Carville and host Brian Williams couldn't help themselves from going off script (trashing Trump) to mock them. And amazingly kept it up for awhile.

In other news, Elizabeth "Fauxahontas" Warren sent each of them a thank you note for helping people forget her nauseatingly condescending and patronizing "Hold on a sec, I'm gonna get me a beer" shtick.

And listening to Trump when it's obviously something others wrote for him is even more painful than when he's speaking his mind.

Nope. Whataboutism is trying to justify something bad by pointing to others doing somehing equally as bad or worse. Rogue is an expert on that.

The point in my post was different. There is no hysteria and there is no way to justify the claim that "Calling opinions "lies" has been how the left has kept up their spittle flecked "Trump Lied!!!1!!" hysteria." There is so much more to it than that. Statements like "alternative facts" and "truth isn't truth" speak their own language. You can easily see that Trump is a liar without having to call opinions lies.

At least they were coherent. But I'm very curious. The list of misinformation and lies from Trump was pretty clear. What did you hear from Pelosi and Schumer that you thought was misinformation or an outright lie?
