Has anybody heard anything about the investigation into who posted the initial video on Twitter? I saw some chatter claiming that some members of Congress think it was a "foreign source" who may have done it (and we all know what the underlying implication there is).

Nobody's discussed this aspect, but one thing that I found troubling was the Twitter account that posed as the mother of one of the boys and posted that "she" wished that more smallpox blankets would have been brought to America. Somebody did an archive search on that Twitter account and it had previously been a generic anti-Trump account with a masculine name/avatar. This was likely from a troll farm somewhere.
