FWIW, I'm pretty certain that wearing one on the way to/from or at work would make me a trouble magnet.
Enter the Church and wash away your sins. For here there is a hospital and not a court of law. Do not be ashamed to enter the Church; be ashamed when you sin, but not when you repent. – St. John Chrysostom

Outside of going to a trump rally MAGA stuff actually DOES incite trouble. Its a culture thing. I mean just because you CAN doesn't mean you should. I mean no it's not akin to wearing a yankees jersey outside of New York City. People genuinely associate MAGA stuff with racism, bigotry and narcissism among other things. I doubt you'd get the same response from seeing someone in a baseball jersey.

It depends on what you want to accomplish. Do you want to be divisive? Unfortunately, in today's society, that's what MAGA hats will accomplish.

For example, I do a lot of social work in town, and I would guess that the vast majority of my "clients" are liberal and/or Democrat. Would wearing a MAGA hat be a good idea in ministering to them?

Craig Melvin, a correspondent for NBC and host of MSNBC Live, proclaimed on the aforementioned show that wearing one is an "invitation for confrontation." IOW, you're asking for it if you wear one. He went on to further declare that "Some people referred to the hat as a modern day version of the confederate battle flag." Have you ever noticed that when a "journalist" says "some people" believe something they are almost always expressing what they think but don't have the, um, intestinal fortitude to say that?

Anyhow, Melvin's guest, Princeton's African American Studies professor Eddie Glaude concurred citing that world renowned political expert, the celebutard Alyssa Milano (the genius who recently offered to donate both of her kidneys to Ruth Bader Ginsburg ):

Alyssa Milano the actress I think described the hat as a modern day white sheet. I think that's how she described it. The hat in some ways for many of us a kind of racial animus...Make America great again is a kind of nostalgic longing for the 1950s...which black people were to stay in their place, where browns were to stay in their place

He went on to repeat the now thoroughly discredited claim that the students from Covington were shouting "build a wall!" at the tom-tom banging fake "recon ranger" Nathan Phillips.

I'm always still in trouble again

But it's OK to wear a hat supporting Obama or Hillary?

              • So, the question that always comes up when we're discussing a ministry (or even non-ministry) operation is "what's the object of this exercise?"

In other words, what are we trying to accomplish?

If we're trying to prove a point or stand up for our rights, wearing a MAGA hat might be the ticket.

If we're trying to win the hearts and minds of people, probably not.

So these kids are at a pro life rally, they brought the hats that day from a vendor according to Sandmann. I don't think they were intending to trigger snowflakes.

I know - I'm just dealing with reality.

It's like when the Black Lives Matter thing was raging on -- many of my fellow police buddies and supporters had the "Blue Lives Matter" bumper stickers and window details. We actually had a number of flat tire incidents and smashed windshields.

Then you weigh the "what's the object of this exercise" thing... do I want to display the Blue Lives Matter decal and risk damage or personal injury? Well, I carried on, but I removed the banner and sticker from my wife's car. It's not worth her being endangered because there are a bunch of hateful thugs out there who do not respect personal property, or even lives.

We're living in difficult times where the intolerant left respects no boundaries, and you just need to keep that in mind.

So, you're still defining "weekend" as "beginning in June and ending in September"?
