Confused would like thoughts on my first major blog

      http://theologyweb.com/forum/blogs.php?u=144

beware, it's a monster. i would like comments, though, particularly from folks i know well and whose opinions i trust. i didn't want to be extremely public about my thoughts, but not too private either.

enjoy, if you can wade through it

I would recommend MCSE over the CCNA... However, it really depends on what field you're going into and what job your looking for...

My CCNA has been about worthless...

At least, I learned alot and enjoyed the class...

      huh, i'm suprized.

either way, employers tend to look more for experience. i'm not too concerned about certification (since i haven't even graduated college yet), but never hurts to know about this type of stuff.

what kind of networking are you into? i'll probably stick to Administration, though i'd like to actually design voice/data networks.

The MCSE is a bit harder to get and thus is looked upon a bit better... (At least, in my experience)

Correct, now if you have some of the upper level CISCO certifications (CCNP/CCIE) those will definately get you some money.

As for the type of networking, we did basic LAN/WAN set-ups. I've worked with a phone switch network before, but I still prefer the good ole small to medium business scale data networks. I'm actually studying Computer Engineering hopefully to begin to design internetworking equipment.

      Yours,
      Xavier
