I watched a clip on Fox news last night discussing it and whenever the host tried to bring up the fact that Jussie was a fraud and what should happen to him, the liberal guest kept saying that hate crimes are on the rise and it is all Trump's fault because the "President sets the tone" - totally ignoring the fact that Jussie's fraud harms their whole cause. It was all "pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!" and "Lookie over here at this distraction!"

I've seen several black commentators very clearly agree that this incident is really bad for "real victims". There wasn't even the usual "but, um, well....." The only caveat was "if this is true", and they appeared to not dispute at all that it's true this was a hoax, and a shameful one at that.

I did, however, see a panel discussion on CNN where they are trying desperately to point out that it "Wasn't JOURNALISTS" who initially reported this - it was bloggers and 'unreliable sources', blah blah blah..... Of course, it wasn't any time at all before the "real journalists" were piling on.

Everyone should have been skeptical of an attack on a -45 degree night by two guys who just happened to have a rope and bleach just discovered and recognized a black, gay actor and who proclaimed Chicago to be "MAGA country".
