The right thing to do is to forgo the camps. They are evil and a disgrace. Those in charge have arrested and detained citizens and legal immigrants as well as numerous human rights abuses. Given that the people they are sending to the detention centers are often already here, hardworking and tax paying makes it all the more reason the camps need to go. Also this stupid wall isn't going to stop immigration into ports where "visa overstay" is the most common form of illegal immigration. There are other ways to curb illegal immigration than a "wall." Not to mention some people are under the impression that a wall will stop drugs. It won't. If you recollect the case of El Chapo, he smuggled drugs in legal shipments of Jalapenos and produce. Also there was a large shipment of cocaine that was caught in NY harbor. And it won't stop corrupt agents from trafficking Meth or Heroin. Especially given the sources and how people sneak in.

            • Your quote seems to indicate what "usually" happens in the historical sense then goes back to the 1970s to support it. But in the late 1990s the Democrat controlled Congress changed that and greatly limited what gets released after one of these investigations.

The Starr Report was released in 1998 despite criticisms of overt bias and having been frequently leaked throughout the inquiry (especially its salacious details) unlike with Mueller's inquiry. So I don't know to what you are referring. But even if the rules were changed "in the late 90's" as you say, the historic tradition should be restored given that "After Barr Letter, Overwhelming Majority Wants Full Mueller Report Released"

                • There is one big difference, however: the investigations into Nixon and Clinton were predicated on and uncovered actual crimes. In the case of the Russian Collusion Delusion, not only did the letter appointing Mueller not specify a crime to be investigated, but the dirty cop came up empty-handed after spending a desperate two-years and $30-million trying to find anything at all to pin on President Trump. The corrupt House Democrats aren't continuing where Mueller left off so much as asking for a do-over.

                  • Good luck with that. Congress issued a subpoena to Stedman and he basically used it as toilet paper. If the actual wording of the subpoena really is consistent with what has been casually tossed around in the media, it would amount to a demand for Barr to break laws and put himself in jeopardy. At that point, my hope is that Trump rescinds his waiver of executive privilige and instructs Barr to give the broadest and staunchest defense of executive power as possible. Completely abandon cooperation and "transparency." Become the biggest, baddest, most noxious asparagus-eating skunk in the urinating contest.

It was after the Starr report and as a direct result of it that the Democrat controlled Congress changed the law limiting what could and could not be released.

Ah, well the historic tradition needs to be restored, given Barr's inadequate four page memo and the fact that he appears to have ignored the summaries prepared by the Mueller Team. There is now an overwhelming majority of Congress that wants the full Mueller Report released to enable it to fulfill it's Constitutional duty of oversight of the Executive Branch.

If you're saying that "an overwhelming majority of Congress" wants the Mueller Report in unredacted form, you're saying that they want Mueller to break the law. I'm pretty sure he'll politely hand them the pen he used to sign the summary and suggest they take turns using it to sit and spin.

                          The have a choice:

                          1) Accept the redacted report when Barr delivers it in a few days.

                          2) Go ahead and excrete the threatened subpoena and watch it be tied up in court for two years or more, and get no report until the process is finished.

You won't know what Mueller came up with until the actual Mueller report, his own summary thereof, is released for you to see for yourself. Atty Gen Barr, Trumps Roy Cohn is doing all he can to hide that from you and that should, if you weren't such an idiot, tell you something.

All is fair in the current hate Trump drama.
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.
