This seemed pretty rampant at Duke. And they knew about it. Make you wonder about other colleges.

My wife is actually in charge of 'publications' at Texas A&M - they have had their scandals, but mostly it was 'fixed' in house before it got out. Just in her 15 years there, at least two professors no longer have access to the publications system, and one actually lost tenure.

They have to be very careful because a lot of their funding comes from "big AG" like Monsanto, DuPont, Syngenta, Scotts Miracle-Gro, Converted Organics....

Professors in the Extension division routinely get their "A&M pay", but then they get additional salary "enhancements" based on the grants they secure from "Big AG".

It's an invitation to scandal, to say the least.
