Women Don't Want Men to FIX IT!

Women Don't Want Men to FIX IT!

    Except when they do.

When they tell you a problem, they don't want you to fix it - they just want you to listen.
Except when the problem is plumbing or electrical or mechanical - then they want you to fix it.
Or, NOT fix it, but call somebody who can.

And if they're angry, they want you to be kind and understanding and loving.
Unless they want you to get angry, too!
But don't try to fix it. Unless they want you to.

And the rules are that they're not allowed to tell you when they want you to listen, or to get angry, or to fix it.
    You just have to know.

And, if you should be so lucky to figure out what they want, the rules will change.

Fortunately, Mrs CP and I have come to an understanding.
I don't have a clue what she wants me to do when she presents me with a challenge.
    So I listen.
Then I ask - do you want me to do anything about this, or just listen?

Usually, she'll tell me what she wants.
    Except when she doesn't.

And that's all I got to say about that.

    for now

I think you need to fix that post.

No, I really want you to fix it.

So, you're saying that cause you're wanting me to fix it, for real, or because you want to see how long it takes me to do it?

And, are you gonna, later on, say "I didn't want you to DO anything, I just wanted you to LISTEN"?

    I'm so confused.

Most men are "problem solvers." When you come to us with a problem we will naturally start looking for solutions. But as me brudder said often when wimmenfolk come to us with a problem it isn't really a "problem" in the usual way. The solution then is to be a sounding board, and a shoulder to lean on or even cry on.

I'm always still in trouble again

I have a husband who ALWAYS suggests ANOTHER fix for an issue that I've already decided on the fix that I want.

He makes me crazy, because usually it means I end up giving in to what HE wants instead of what I really want.

Sometimes I don't want you to fix what needs fixing.

Sometimes I'll wait a while, then summarize my wife's latest 'request', like, "OK, so you DON'T WANT me to paint that table..... is that your final answer.... would you like to use a lifeline, phone a friend?"

The next day, I'll generally have an inexplicable bruise on my right shoulder.
