Is that a Finnish thing? Because I can't think of any sandwiches that have butter, except peanut butter and I don't think that's what you meant.

I think many cultures use butter on their sandwiches where we use mayonnaise (which we cadged from the French).

I put butter on every sandwich, and I put butter on hot dog buns, too.

Even if there's mayonnaise in the filling. The butter helps keep the bread from getting soggy. Learned that from my Mom making school lunches.

I love to coat my hamburger buns with butter, then put them under the broiler, buttered side up, til they "toast" just right.

Butter and Bacon make everything better. And we're talking REAL butter, not that chemical crap that's only one atom away from diesel fuel.
