Have you actually debated anything with Carp? He pulls the "you can have the last word" card all the time, as an escape when he knows he has no valid argument, but then later changes his mind and continues posting in the thread. It's like a running joke around here.

I'm always happy to discuss, Jim. Chrawnus and I have had an extended discussion in another thread. So too with Seer and LittleMonkey and even Darfius. You and I have had some decent exchanges and I would welcome another. I have decided, however, not to continue to disconnect from discussions that descend into the ad hominem muck. It's a waste of time and energy and not what I am interested in.

That seldom happens with you, though we have disagreed on some topics (i.e., homosexuality, abortion). On this topic I find us fairly closely aligned, so we would simply be posting agreement with each other. But feel free to join us in the other threads on some of those topics, or to start one you are interested in and think I might be as well.

I have a feeling he didn't see the whole truth. Because the official reports paint a very bad picture. I certainly don't believe Fox News claims that its basically a summer vacation camp. There are a lot of minors there, some of them younger than seven being kept there for days.

As for FoxNews I don't know why you guys trust them so much.

These pictures Leonard are no different that the pictures from when Obama was president (see my OP). Like I said our services are overwhelmed, but we have a new 4.9 billion spending bill that just passed. Which should help a lot. And we are not RESPONSIBLE for this mess, though we are doing what we can...

Its your government, its your border, its your guards. You're not personally responsible seer, it would be madness to blame it on you, but it wouldn't be unfair to say that the US is responsible for this. As for it happening under Obama, that doesn't make it better. In fact its somewhat lowered my view of his presidency.

You have the means to house them. Considering how much money is drained into that system it has to be either run very inefficiently, or very corruptly for all that money to be wasted. I don't think the US can get away without criticism or a "Am I my brothers keeper" excuse.

First we don't have the facilities on the ground to take them all in, in comfort. What, do you think we have empty facilities around that could house tens of thousands at a drop of a hat? The Republicans have been trying to get that 4.6 billion bill passed for months, Pelosi was blocking it because it did not have everything she wanted.

Except the Border patrol, the actual experts on the ground, want a border wall and said it would greatly help. And this last bill, as far as I know, did not have monies for the wall - though it should have.

I'm honestly skeptical of that claim, and if they've changed their mind recently about it I'm skeptical of their reasoning. As for the bill, if money went to the wall I don't blame Pelosi for blocking it.
