So I've dug into each of these - and it appears the "fake news" was the claims about these being "fake news." Take the first CNN story, for example. Apparently the REAL story is that CNN came upon the protestors, thought it would make a good interest story, and then set up to make the shoot. Their "staging" was nothing more than simply asking the protestors to move to a better location for filming, arrange themselves to fit into the frame for the shot, etc. The protest was already underway when CNN came upon them. But someone grabbed video of this re-arrangement underway and then starting the rumor that CNN staged the entire protest.

This is what I am basically talking about: Trump and his base fabricate these "anti-media" stories against any news outlet they want to disparage, and then scream "fake news" when all the while it is the people screaming "fake news" that are creating the fake news. The biggest source of fake news in America today occupies the oval office. Meanwhile, Hannity can promote a story SHOWN to have originated from Russian fake news outlets, never own it or apologize for it, and you get crickets from the right.

If they go "find fake protestors" (which is what they were generally, and falsely, accused of doing), then it would be "fake news." If they ask a group of people to relocate for light purposes, sound purposes, or to avoid conflict (i.e., too many people walking through the shot) - why on earth would I care?

The fake news is not CNN - it's the fake news ABOUT CNN (in this instance). The other two were similar (at least in kind).

If I remember Meh_gerbil he had many others too. And each one of those examples I gave have pretty long threads discussing them. Rather than link to the threads I just linked to the stories in the OP.

I was pretty sure Carp didn't really want any evidence of CNN's fake news, he just thought nobody could provide any so he asked for it in an attempt to shut people down. Once he actually got some, he just handwaves them away as usual.

Heck he could just google CNN Fake News and come up with a dozen.
