We consider a lie to be a poster knowingly and willfully making a statement they know to be untrue. If you call someone a liar you need to substantiate it. In order to substantiate an accusation of lying, it must be shown that the poster in question is stating something they know to be untrue. Opinions or facts that are in dispute should never be referred to as lies. Someone's faith or beliefs should also never be referred to as lying. We will not allow repeated accusations of lying. We will moderate any tossing out the term "liar" - and similar charges - when it is used in place of a response or as a mere insult to denigrate the other person, as judged by the moderators. We will also not allow repeated posts calling someone a liar, accusing them of lying, or claiming their post is a lie. If you wish to challenge the truth of someone's statement, then do so ONLY ONCE in the thread, and substantiate your claim IN THE SAME POST. Further discussion of the matter will only be allowed in the Padded Room.

Apparently you didn't read my post, or had trouble comprehending once again. Those would be democratic processes, not an autocrats undermining of the democratic process.

You asked what I meant by undermining our democracy, I told you, and you completely ignored it. Like I said, the problem is that he has support in this, and you're it! And btw, that post had nothing to do with Hillary, or the past, it had to do with Trump and what he is doing now. If I understand your post, I am allowed to take exception once in this thread. This is that time. If a persons says "I believe X", then it makes perfect sense that I can't call that a lie. I have no way of knowing what that person actually believes. However, if a person says "oxmixmudd believes X" without first hand knowledge that is what I believe, then it is the other person that has no clue what they are talking about. Now, if that person says "I believe oxmixmudd believes X", that would be subject to the first rule. That is their belief, and I can't say one way or the other if that is true. But if a person says "oxmixmudd believes X", and they don't know that by my own declaration, then they are not telling the truth, because they are stating as fact that which they have no way of knowing. That is, for the same reason I cant know if MM's statment of belief about something is true, neither can MM know what I believe unless I tell him.

But this is one step further. MM knows I don't believe what he claimed I believe, because I have repeatedly denounced such characterizations of my belief. So It's a lie, because he knows that is not what I believe, and because he did not qualify his statement as being his own belief, it is not subject to being excused as merely being his belief. Therefore, he has stated as a fact that which he knows not to be true - [I]the definition of a lie[/B].

I think the hatred is going both ways right now. It's not just one direction. Trump seems to revel in stirring it up, adding to the flame - but it is not all his fault.

The hatred started right after Trump's election without waiting to see what he would do and that hatred was caused by Clinton not winning the election. Democrats would treat Cruz or Rubio as they do Trump if either had one.

I said I've voted for Democrats and Republicans but after this kind of hatred and off-the-wall ideas I doubt if I would ever vote for a Democrat again.

The hatred was already in full swing at Trump's rallies long before the election completed. I conceded it's not all Trump's fault. But neither does the fault lie solely in the more liberal camps. There is a lot of blame to go around.

Given the Russians actively attempted to help him win and that he did not win the popular vote - is that such a stretch?

And yet it was the "Love Trumps Hate" campaign that came up with the infamous "irredeemable basket of deplorables" line, and the only examples of Trump's hatred we get from the left are lies like "Trump thinks all Mexicans are murderers and rapists" or "Trump thinks all immigrants are animals".

And then you have Trump giving an inspiring salute to America and its armed forces on July 4th while liberal pundits wrung their hands in despair and mocked the President, and protesters burned American flags in front of the White House.

Oh, but it's Trump who is hateful.
